#4 seed OU beat #5 Texas 1-0 today in the first round of the Big 12 Soccer Championships in San Antonio. This is Oklahoma's second win against the Longhorns in 10 days, following our 2-1 double overtime win in Austin. That win broke a three-game winning streak in the series for Texas.

Coach Nelson's Sooners will face the winner of the #1 Texas A&M/#8 Colorado matchup on Friday evening. The Sooners fell to A&M 2-1 in double overtime at College Station during the regular season, and defeated Colorado 2-1 in single OT in Norman.

In the second quarterfinal game, #3 Nebraska beat #6 Missouri 4-1. Nebraska, who finished the regular season tied for third in the standings with OU but was awarded the three seed based on conference point differential, will play the winner of #2 aggy and #7 Texas Tech on Friday.

Game 3 of the quarters is at the half right now, with regular season champ Texas A&M and Colorado tied at nil-nil. Again, the winner of this game plays us in the semis on Friday.

OU beat A&M 1-0 in the second minute of overtime on Friday to advance to the championship game for the first time in the program's history. They took on aggy for the third time this season on Sunday afternoon, jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead on Annalisa Hall's goal in the second minute, but a defensive miscue allowed aggy to score the tying goal in the 70th minute. It stayed tied at 1 through regulation and two OT periods, so the championship was decided via penalty kick shootout, which aggy won 5-4. aggy won their second straight Big 12 tourney title and the league's automatic berth in the 64-team NCAA field. The Sooners figure to be in the draw as an at-large team, but won't know for certain until the NCAA selections are announced on ESPNU Monday afternoon at 3:30 central.

Thanks. Losing to Oklahoma State three times in one season is a kick in the gut to me, but you guys have a great side. Congrats on back-to-back Big 12 titles & good luck in the tourney.
