Landry Jones
Oklahoma QB, Soph.

Last Week: 32-of-46 passing for 453 yards and four TDs; two rushes for four yards in 43-10 win over Colorado

Season: 227-of-338 passing for 2,547 yards, 21 TDs and five INTs

Before last weekend, Jones was the only one of the Big 12's top eight passers without a completion of at least 50 yards. He threw two in a performance that ranks only behind 2007 Heisman winner Sam Bradford (468 yards) in the Sooners' record book. Jones is now tied for second in FBS with 318.3 passing yards per game and that number could swell with none of Oklahoma's remaining opponents ranking better than 87th vs. the pass.

Next Up: Saturday at Texas A&M

He's going to have a field day the rest of the season.

I will have his children if he actually lights up the remaining teams' secondaries this year.

Edit: will have Whitney Hands children for him.

Cam Newton seems like he's been hand picked already to me.

I don't care what the experts at espn say, Broyles should be in the conversation IMHO. Best receiver in college football right now.

landry is in no way going to win the heisman this year unless he puts up like 500 yards per game and 29.7 TD passes over the next 4 games. but cam newton is definitely the heisman favorite right now...i don't think too many people can argue that.

Newton ended all Heisman speculation against LSU. Rushing for 200+ yards against the best defense in the history of organized football did it. It's his to lose, now.

Newton deserves it this year. I'd give it to him even if they lose to Alabama.

I think Broyles should be in the running too but wr's who don't get td's and lots of yards on punt and kick returns don't win heisman trophies. And this year he doesn't have the great return stats.

Well I have 27.8 TD passes over the next 4 games on my spreadsheet, but I'll defer to your number.

In my opinion, AJ Green, Jeff Fuller, Ryan Broyles. Thats my order of best in college football.

Now best pro prospects,

1. AJ Green
2. Jeff Fuller
3. Justin Blackmon
4. Ryan Broyles

I am in no way down playing Ryans ability, the guy plays at an incredible competitive level. Its his size that just brings him down a tad. I hope im wrong, but if he leaves this year, he is a 2nd-3rd rounder.

yeah but Blackmon is a soph, you can't really compare him with the other guys.

Fuller wouldn't even be in my top ten. Alshon Jeffery and Julio Jones are better NFL prospects. I'd put Jones in Fullers spot and put Jeffery after Broyles at 5.

He's an RS sophomore stats wise(over a career) he can't compare but he can leave after this year and is definitely a top 3 receiver. That took a lot out of me to say too.

Newton is a very good QB. I really think he deservesit. I had no idea Landry Jones season numbers looked that good though. I definately think Broyles should be in on the heisman talk.

Yea Newton deserves it unless they lose Georgia (who always owns Auburn no matter how bad they are) and Alabama. If they lose both no Heisman.

Nope. It's because he plays in the greatest conference on earth! S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C!

Jones needs to mature a little more, and be more of a vocal leader on the sidelines, IMO.
That ho-hum, deer in the headlights look in clutch situations isn't going to get it done. Stop taking big sacks and learn how to scramble for God's sake.
Still, he's a pretty dame good QB. We're lucky to have him.

The character issue may keep Cam from taking the trophy home. Nobody else has had even close to the same performance on the field however. If he does win it I don't think anyone can say he stole it.

Landry has as much of a chance winning the Heisman Trophy this season as any poster on this board. If anyone on this team even deserved some consideration it would be Broyles.

I'm sure tonights events don't help him.
