I have always been a night owl and depending on how stressed out I am it gets worse, a normal night for me is going to bed around 1-2.

If I am stressed or just not feeling tired ill stay up til 3-4 on weekdays and have to be at work at 9 most days of the week. I typically go thru each week day on about 4-7 hours of sleep.

I'm pretty much like you, which gives us ample time to tear into each other while all the lazy butts are sleeping. Then they get to wake up and view the carnage.

I'm the same way only between 4-5. I've never been a day person at all, and I'm damned near homicidal in the mornings.

ive always hated the day time. people dont understand it... i say why dont everyone else get on board with the staying up at night thing?

since high school ive always stayed up at night. dont know why. just like the quiet and the solitude i guess.

Again, I find myself in agreement. I always did my best work at night whether it be homework, research papers, debate cases, etc.

I usually go to bed around 1:30 or 2.
I usually fall asleep in my recliner with the TV on around 9-9:30.

I would prefer to be a night owl, that is more of my natural sleep rhythm, but getting kids to school, etc. overrides that, and I have to go to bed early. I need AT LEAST 7 hours to function, prefer to get about 9 hours sleep. So I'm usually crashed by 10:30 or so. I feel sorry for my son, he is a total night owl, he is much more alert and pleasant to be around when he can stay up til 3 and sleep til noon or so. He is so hard to wake up in the mornings, even if he goes to sleep early, I have to practically push him off his bunk to wake him up.

SicEm and C11--you probably need more sleep than that! Lot of new studies out about chronic sleep deprivation these days. It can do everything from making you gain weight to causing high blood pressure and throwing hormones out of whack. Even if you don't feel sleepy on only 4 hours, you are probably stressing your body, and that will show up eventually. You're both young, too, as you get older you may start to have some problems. You should both try to get at least 6 or 7 hours a night, and catching up on weekends doesn't count. [/momspeech]

i'm usually in bed sometime between midnight and 2, depending on the amount of studying/homework i have. unfortunately, i have sleep walking/talking problems so i think i get interrupted in my sleep just about every night...although i think it's gotten better over the last year or so.

I feel it only fair to warn you that you are only given so many times in your life that you can do that. I used all of mine up in college and now I need a whole lot of sleep to survive.

This. It was like a switch was thrown. I used to be able to operate on however much sleep I got, but now, my body is going to get that six hours of sleep, whether I need to be up to do something or not, so I have to plan accordingly and hit the sack.

I don't want to hear it. You pansies have it easy.

In college I used to wake up at 7 to go to work, then school, gym, back to school to study. I wouldn't normally get back home until midnight and sometimes after 3am. I was working on no sleep for at least a couple of years.
