I have heard this said alot with OUs recent kicking struggles since Hartley left so I decided to look it up, I honestly didnt know what to expect...

This is the Top 15 teams based on the BCS rankings and how they have done with FGs

Oklahoma- 7/10 Long of 42

Oregon- 9/10 Long of 42

Auburn- 12/16 Long of 43

Boise St- 9/11 Long of 47

TCU- 6/6 Long of 43

Michigan St- 13/14 Long of 50

Missouri- 13/14 Long of 50

Alabama- 14/18 Long of 49

Wisconsin- 9/17 Long of 49

Ohio St- 12/14 Long of 42

LSU- 14/17 Long of 51

Nebraska- 9/9 Long of 52

Stanford- 11/11 Long of 46

Arizona- 6/8 Long of 47

As I said, I didnt know what I was going to get when I looked this up and I was typing this as I was looking it up. Now that ive looked at the numbers it makes me feel worse.

Going into this I figured it would be more up n down but I think 15 is a pretty good sample size and it is quite clear that whoever is evaluating the kickers that we recruit and whoever is coaching them needs to adjust their methods. It is staggering, it appears that every single team outside of maybe Zona has a legit kicker. Unreal, its tough to admit that your team sucks at something but this doesnt make me feel very good

Nicely done.

70% is not really that bad, including tonights game gainst CU (first half at least) we are not 9/12.

It really is not that bad, just seems we miss the clutch kicks or the kicks that we really need at the time.

Would it be nice to have another Hartley, well yes. But we have to do with what we have and Stoops does continue to put them in the game when kicking, so they obviously can make them in practive.

We all thought DiCarlo was great, then he went on a missing streak. Maybe one of our kickers can go on a making streak?

I could have saved you the trouble--Jimmy Stevens sucks.

Not a big game kicker that's for sure.

Bobby Bowden invited Stevens down, then convinced him he'd be too homesick.

Would like to see anyone on this board go do better. if you think you can, and you have eligibility, then stop talking and go pove it.

Another real bad part that those stats don't show is how many times we may have gone for it on 4th instead of trying the fg because of no confidence in the kicker.

Didn't see the stats for the Texas kicker on the list but I understand he made 5 FGs today.

Lots of crappy teams have good kickers, though...

Nebbish's kicker had a boot on him he kicked it out of the endzone everytime, if would could do this I think OU d would play a lot better in most cases! I hope we get this worked out in the next few years!:D
