Cinematic Topography of the Day: Redditor subtonix (http://www.reddit.com/user/subtonix) says: “I made a map of what movies I think best represent US states. Hope I didn’t miss any…” Fargo for Minnesota? I think not. What else did he/she get wrong?

Macy's Minneapolis car dealership, and the Wood Chipper Lake.

But I get that the title town isn't.

I'm not sure if I understand - if he is saying the movies represent how life really is in those places...he sounds like another idiot who hasn't been to Oklahoma and thinks its all tornadoes all the time.

And Colorado is nothing but WOLVERINES!! (That movie was filmed in NM anyway, not Colorado - not sure if he took that into account).

Twisters suck but that last earthquake kind of got me thinking too. I was raised to think that Twisters were much easier to deal with than what Californians had to deal with....now we seem to have both. I guess those Fires they get are next. :D

Oklahoma should have been Grapes of Wrath or a movie about the displacement and genocide of the indigenous people.

Nah, life in Oklahoma isn't like Grapes of Wrath any more. In fact, it's done a 180 and is now accepting California refugees.

It's hard to just pick one single movie to display Oklahoma life. You go from the laid back city life of OKC and Tulsa to the rural farm life in places like Beaver or Gotebo.
