I'm planning on building one probably this winter and the big question mark is baffles in the main box. I've seen both, but the prospect of getting more even temperatures across the chamber sounds appealing. As follows.

The entrance into the main chamber does have a small baffle - about 5-6 inches. They (gator pit) do sell pits that are completely baffled, as well.
