Event organizers here in Tulsa announced the recently concluded three-day Oktoberfest, which has become a Tulsa tradition over the past 25 years, had typical attendance, but the highest gross revenues in the fest's history. Either things are looking up, or Okies place a very high priority on beer and brats.

Not a very good beer selection, and the weather sucked.

A guy I know who sells stuff at these events was telling me how bad it was for him in other states.

I think OK has been fairly isolated thanks to energy, commodity and exports sectors of the economy.

Maybe it has something to do with pitchers being 19 bucks a shot this year.

Wasn't it 16 dollars last year?

My wife bought a 19 dollar pitcher in one tent (don't remember which one). Boulevard Wheat. I refilled the pitcher with Shiner Bock in the main tent for 14 (New pitchers were 16 in the main tent). Still outrageous, but I found it odd that beer prices weren't uniform as in past years.

I'm not going again until the price for a pitcher is $30. Gotta get all the rift raff outta the way.
