Thanks folks for being such good forumites and giving him a venue to share his thoughts.
This was one of the first sites he stumbled upon after I built his first computer for him.
Obit as follows...
Born to Lt. John O. and Aline M. Wood 8-1-43 in Lawton Ok.
Both preceded him into the arms of our Lord.
Went to Fiddler’s Green, the eternal resting place of all cavalrymen, 10-21 -10.
Loved life as an Army brat and serving officer in the Armor Branch of the United States Army. Service in Kentucky, Korea, Kansas, Germany, Georgia, and Viet Nam...the only Armor Captain with a music degree.
Proud ex-Leesville HS(LA) Wampus Cat and graduate of Douglas MacArthur HS, San Antonio class of ’61. Graduate of Saint Mary’s University, Bachelor of Music Education and commission as 2Lt, Armor, through the R.O.T.C. program.
He played trumpet and cornet for nearly fifty years in school, college, and community bands and served as Trumpet Section Leader and Vice-President in the San Antonio Municipal Band.
Survived by his son, Senior Chief Petty Officer (Ret) John Alexander Wood and his loved and loving family, his wife Lisa and his daughter Jennifer.
Also surviving are his close friends Rodney Hackney, Bob Draper, George Westover, Betty Stone, Dan Smith and family, Donna Wiechecki, Teeni Harman and daughter Marty, Steve Skinner, Jack Mims, Jesse Gaudard and family, Eloise Cramer and daughter Renna , Jerry White, and all the other friends and family who have enriched my life.
