With LSU being #2 in the computers and Auburn #3, does the winner of this game pass us even if we win this week in the computers?

OU .980
LSU .940
AUB .900

WHo knows??? All we can do is win the next game, every game.

I doubt it. This isn't a concern anyways, neither will pass us in the overall BCS.

JUST WIN BABY WIN!

i thought oregon and boise were the two teams right behind us? and no, it won't happen if we win...we're playing the 11th ranked team, on their turf. if we actually jumped teams by pounding iowa aggy, what makes you think we'd be passed by beating a ranked team?

If we win in Columbia, we should pick up some votes in the human polls. If we win big we should pick up even more. That will help us in the overall ranking. But you have a good point, we might drop into 2nd place in the computer rankings.

i think the humans could be a little persuaded after seeing the computers come out.

a win at Missouri will help in every category.

The computers love bama and auburn, but they also love mizzou for some reason. Kind of tough to say in the computers, but hopefully we pick up some style points in the human polls.

LSU or Auburn gets knocked out after this week.

I'd prefer for Auburn to win.

Auburn plays @ Alabama. Which will be a good one.

Honestly I dont care, if we win things will take care of itself. Im not worrying about BCS til I see how long we stay undefeated

would those teams be beating 6-0 teams on the road this week if they win?

Let me try to put this in a way that will make some sense.

As long as ou wins that is all they can control. The thing that will help us tue most is what past opponents have done. If cincy fsu, afa, Texas win and so do we then we will stay strong in te computers

After that we need Missouri to keep winning. If Texas beats okie lite, that helps us tremendously.

So it is a mix of what we do and what our past opponents do too!

And if as those things happen it doesn't matter what lsu or auburn does to the computers we have equal SOS remaining.

i think beating an undefeated OSU team on the road would be better than beating 2-loss Texas on a neutral field

osu may have 2 losses when we play them so that is a moot point right now

Maybe, but the idea of using a victory against Oklahoma State in our NC game resume makes me giggle uncontrollably.

Yeah but beating a 3 loss Texas team and beating a 1 loss osu team is equal to beating a 2 loss Texas team and a 2 loss osu team.

Meaning for our bcs run this year Texas beating osu will be better for ou right now.

Both will lose a game, one this week, the other to Bama.....so it really doesn't matter.

some of the polls are supposed to weight where you win differently. numerically, for SOS, it doesn't matter if Texas or OSU wins, otherwise

the human polls would likely be more influenced by beating a highly ranked team on the road at the end of the season though

My view: If OU wins, who cares what else happens?

That said, you know that the irrational SEC love/lust is still alive and burning in the hearts of pollsters, so my cynical pessimistic side says don't be surprised if even a 2-loss SEC champ makes it to the BCSMNC game.

Don't worry about it, if OU wins out they control their destiny. Plus, a Mizzou win would only add to OU's BCS standings.

It's october, Mizzou is ranked pretty high and undefeated. Plus, this is on the road. I'll worry about this in mid-late november.

Just let OU win out this year and let the chips fall where they may. If the Sooners win all their games they have done all they can do, the rest is in the eyes of the voters and the computers.

When we beat Misery they will all-of-a-sudden earn the current Nebbish title of:

"overrated"

This will continue until the CCG when the media will be in a frenzy promoting a 1-loss SEC team over the undefeated BigXII Champion to play Smurf in the BCS Title game.

As predictable as sunrise.
