safe travels and hope you guys have a good time. I posted this within a thread, but now since I can start one of my own here it is.

Here are some recommendations for when you are in town.

* Flat Branch Pub and Brewery is hands down my favorite restaurant in Columbia. Great microbrewery and the Brown Ale is fantastic.
http://www.google.com/search?q=flat+...5cdb1806fef4aa
* Booches (on 9th st. next to Panera Bread Co.)
http://www.google.com/search?q=Booch...5cdb1806fef4aa
* Murrays (South of the stadium on Providence & Green Meadows)
http://www.google.com/search?q=murra...5cdb1806fef4aa
* Shakespeares Pizza wheat crust and pepperjack cheese is a must
http://www.google.com/search?q=shakespea....ient=firef ox-a

The bar scene is pretty good in Columbia...

* Field House is pretty crazy on a Friday night with $10 bottomless cup from 9-12.
http://www.google.com/search?q=field.....ient=firefox -a
* The Penguin (dueling piano bar) is pretty popular on Fridays before games...usually doesn't carry many specials but is popular among the young and old.
http://www.google.com/search?q=the+p...5cdb1806fef4aa
* Harpos is your quintessential college bar and very popular before, during and after games. They used to carry $1 bottles on Friday nights, but I doubt they do anymore due to games.
http://www.google.com/search?q=harpo...ient=firefox-a
* Big XII (now known as Campus Bar and Grill) is a pretty good bar with a lot of TVs, good food, and pretty cheap drinks. If you are here on Sunday, they have dollar burgers which are pretty damn good.
http://www.google.com/search?q=campus+ba....ie nt=firefox-a
* Bengals is a pretty good bar also. They have a huge outdoor seating area and lots of TVs inside. I also believe they have a shuttle to the game too.
http://www.google.com/search?q=benga...5cdb1806fef4aa
* Shiloh Bar and Grill is a really popular bar with live music Friday and Saturdays and a huge outdoor seating area.
http://www.google.com/search?q=shiloh+ba....ient=fir efox-a

All the bars you could want are between 9th St. to 4th street and Broadway to Elm St.

I would recommend checking out the campus while you are here, especially The Quad, Memorial Union, The new MU student center and our Rec Center http://www.mizzourec.com/facilities/..

I got a lifetime fill of Missouri fans at the BCC in San Antonio. They're awesome at two things....Running. As in their mouths and for the exits when they're getting beat.

No amount of money would convince me to visit Columbia.

I'm going, hopefully the people I meant in Columbia are as polite as you are. But as the second poster said, my experiences with Mizzou fans is a lot of mouth running. I'll look over the places you suggested.

Stop by Miami and say What's Up.

Stop for lunch at Waylon's the Ku-Ku. It's the shizz, I'm telling you.

Seriously. Do it. Look for this sign.

Tiger..every team has the jerks and the good fans. I wasn't say you were a jerk, I'm just saying 99% of the ones in SA were drunk, screaming profanities or saying how we didn't deserve to be on the field with Mizzou. Even the overweight guy in the wheelchair sitting behind me was dooshin OU while sitting on our side.

Took my dad to that game. He's not an OU fan but lives in SA and has season tickets at the Alamo Dome. He goes to the bowl game every year. He's retired Navy and said the Mizzou fans had mouths worse than sailors and it was the most obnoxious bunch he's seen from any school.

And that's why I don't want to drive and sit in stadium with people like that.

But thanks for your hospitality here to our fans making the trip!

Sooners: Take your vehicle and fill up at the border, take your own food and beer and if you're gonna take money....freeze it into a block of ice to avoid any impulse spending.

I've been to Columbia a few times (not for games) and can vouch for several of those places.

Murry's (no 'A') is a great place.

I've never had any problems with Mizzou fans in Columbia. Although, during the last visit, the Mizzou band decided to wake up the RV'ers around 6-6:30am on Saturday, by marching through the lot playing rilly, rilly loud!

I will agree here...the Ku Ku Drive-In is a hot spot in Miami. It's only about 3-4 miles off the turnpike gate, and for you history buffs, it's located on historic Rt 66! :)

No amount of money would convince me to visit Columbia. In the world of college football, there are 2 types of fans:
1) SOONER fans
2)Sooner HATERS

I'm very happy to be in the first category, and for those of you in the 2nd group, DEEPEST CONDOLENCES, for all the time you have wasted, and will apparently continue to waste.

Been to game in Columbia only one time. I bought end zone seats, but as we were expected to blow them out, we were EASILY able to relocate ourselves to the donor seats along the 50 yrd line.

The folks behind could not have been more courteous. As we were not yet 21, they offered to acquire some Budweiser for us, but we declined.

The rest of the donors threw beer cups and lids at us whenever OU scored TDs -- which happend a lot that afternoon.

But that trip is still one of my favorite memories, and it was 1985 and we went on to win a national championship that year.

Here is the weather according to local news station as of now. Missouri weather will change every minute so I wouldn't believe it till closer to game day! It looks like they will update this as the week goes along.
