Why hasn't he been kicking off? Way can't kick the ball past the 10 but O'Hara was consistantly booting the ball into the endzone. I think he had 3 touchbacks. Nice to see him find a position and get back on the field.

seems like he had the wind, but still, he looked good

Yeah, I liked to see that, too. He did have one kick go out of bounds, and Stoops didn't look too thrilled about it...but after wondering why we appeared to pooch kick the first couple of kickoffs, I'm glad O'Hara stepped up.

What happened to Way? He kept kicking to about the 20 which I thought was because he was into the wind. Then he kicked to the 20 when they switched sides. And his punting hasn't been too good the last couple of games. At the beginning of the year, he was killing the ball. Makes me think maybe he's dinged up or something.

I think punting and ko's were too much for Way,his punting was starting to suffer.

He was kicking off in the beginning of the year but then he strained his groin. It was the same game that Jimmy took over for him on FG and PATs

I was wondering the very same thing, as I was watching the ISU game. There is no positive reason I see for the KOs going only to the 20 with the opposing team advancing it to at least the 30. Then all of a sudden, KOs started going into the EZ, or close, in the 3Q. I didn't catch if it was a change in kickers or strategy or the coaches just getting on his *** about kicking the damn thing.

The wind wasn't strong enough to make that much difference.

Stoops said during his coaches show briefly that he likes the high hanging kickoffs that allow you to try and force a fumble on every now and then. And Tress was doing okay in the first few games, but his boot definitely seems to have suffered a bit on both punts and KOs the last few weeks. O'Hara might have been the KO specialist earlier, but he had the groin injury that kept him out til the fake field goal fiasco against Tejas.
