Look, let's just be objective and understanding. It is no great surprise that this d-rocket is behaving as he is. Mizzou has had a history of not only athletic futility but general life failure that is so comprehensive that any caring person would sympathize with their urge to lash out.

In the major sports, it is hard to recall any moments of greatness. And their one recent brush, with Chase at the wheel, was marred not only by Chase's amply revealed dull mediocrity, but by having OU give them the step-child slap over and over again. Sucks to be them.

In the minor sports, as well, success seems to smile upon the 'show me' state only rarely, if at all. I can't recall any success and, after all, we are talking about men's volleyball and the like here.

Pro sports? Heaven help them.

The most awesome thing they've ever done was to burn Lawrence, KS. Now, I have to admit a certain respect for that; but still it was Lawrence, KS. Not like trying to tangle with Memphis or anything.

Finally, you get down to their journalism school. Ah yes, the center of pride of the entire enterprise. And there, too, the year's of excellence are fading, rapidly, into the rearview mirror.
