Tim Brewster was fired today. I'm not sure I recall this happening before.

"Those that wear maroon and gold are disappointed, embarrassed, frustrated, angry and hurt by a 1-6 football team and the lack of being really competitive in the Big Ten for a long time," athletic director Joel Maturi said.

I'd love to see the Big Ten try to stop Leach's offense. :)

They'd get pissed b/c he didn't play enough defense and wouldn't run the ball. It's a mindset that they (the big 10) are stuck in!

Its very funny to me that he was fired because either thursday or friday, during one of his interviews he was asked about the rumor of being fired if losing their next game and he said it was exactly that "a rumor." Well...so much for it being a rumor!! haha

I take no joy in hearing about somebody getting fired. And I think it's bad form to fire him at this time.

I don't think firing the coach in the middle of the season is ever a good idea. If the players don't already think so that pretty much signals that everyone has given up on them.

I'm trying hard to remember some coach in the southeast who was fired after one game...for some reason I'm pretty sure the loss was against Citadel. Help.

John David Crowe?

Forget me....Jack Crow quit at Arkansas after losing the first game in 1992 to Citadel. He had already coached the hogs the previous two years.

Sorry. I didn't mean to imply that you did.

Wasn't the former Kansas State coach (Parish) fired at halftime of a game?
