Former Sooner Jon Cooper was put in a horrible situation, facing NT Jay Ratliff in his first start, and played well enough for his team to win.

His mom used to post over at Innerwebs under Momof50. Nicest lady ever.

I didn't even know he was playing today. Was he at center? I only say Ratliff get that one sack at the end of the half (although I napped some) but that dude is a beast.

Really happy for Jon. I hope his superior intelligence AND performance keep him in the #1 spot.

I forgot about him starting today even though you mentioned it yesterday I believe. I didn't even look to see how he did. Good to hear he did good.

Cooper managed to hold his own..like ive posted earlier, it was a great spot for him to go to...All of the Vikings centers were undrafted players, so they didnt have any type of commitment tied up with any guy....and it was one of their worst positions...

Stuff like this lets us know how special 08 was.

I'm happy for Jon. That first year, he was cut then later signed to the practice squad and finally made the team. That he got a start is great.

I was really happy to see Cooper starting and do well the other day. I drank a few beers with his dad in Seattle before the OU game a couple of years ago. Super nice guy - had hands that looked like could crush rocks.
