View Full Version : So OU should be #1 in BCS, yeah?

The idiot clown shoe schools should get an SOS penalty. NU loses, tOSU loses, Albarn loses. Well, I guess Oregon, but OU's SOS is tougher. Plus two wins over ranked opponents.

It will depend on how many human voters we pick up now that Neb and tOSU lost.

Yup, I don't like the target being on our backs. Oregon or Boise State will be 1.

Just being OU....we have a target on our backs anyway so if they make us #1...cool....if they don't.....we will be by December by just winning.

yeah Lets worry about Mizzou for now, biggest test yet; especially it being on the road and them being undefeated.

Mizzou worries me. We obviously have a great team and Landry has come out of his shell, I'm just hoping our D can contain their O in Columbia. Their O can puts points on the board...

Air Force may not be ranked tomorrow. San Diego State is putting the hurt on them. Yet another reason to hate the BCS. We have to hope the teams we beat win more games than our opponent's opponents. Virginia Tech won again, so that will help out Boise, since the computers will see VT with only one loss. The computers do not recognize games played against FCS schools, although the human polls sure as hell do.

Our SOS isn't going to be as good as it could be if Air Force doesn't come back against San Diego State.

Air Force did just score though.

Wrong.

Then I wonder if that was that ever a legit rule? I remember clear as day that's all ESPN talked about several years was the disadvantages of a BCS contender scheduling a FCS school. They said the computers would not recognize it because the FCS school would not tie into the various algorithms used by the computer polls.

Every computer ranks FCS schools. It's funny because, going into today, texas was one spot ahead of James Madison.

And I had a conversation on how Maryland deserved to be ranked above tOSU in the comps. They had been clubbing baby seals all year.

Don't shoot the messenger. I'm just taking what I saw on TV as factual. We know how that works out. ;)

I also watched the OU game on the Internet tonight. Am I to believe we beat a cupcake team by MORE than 8 pts? lol

Need Air Force to pull out a win against San Diego State.

Mizzou should probably scare me more but I have never seen a team so pathetic at short yardage situations. Even in the game against Aggie they had 2nd and goal and fumbled their first snap under center. Then they tried a run out of shotgun and got stuffed.

Mizzou's offense is good, as usual, but not great, and not something that worries me, especially with Gabbert being a statue and injured. Their defense has certainly gotten better, although they haven't played a very good offense yet. A&M's offense goes as Jerrod Johnson goes and he has sucked since his shoulder surgery.

True.

They have played the on avg of the 69th best offense, with an avg. of 26.28 pts per game. And that is not including their game against McNeese State game where they gave up only 6 points to that (I-AA) team.

Travis Lewis post-game:

On where OU should be in the BCS:
"We don't deserve to be number one. We have only put two good weeks together. We need to bring ourselves together. We need to prove to the nation that we really deserve it. We don't deserve it. Put Boise State, Oregon or someone else up there. Let us work our way up there."

Again....there's that Bob Stoops Win Out Theory working. Sounds like Lewis is bought in on it so I'd have to believe it's got a bunch more of them drinking at the fountain.

Although we are doomed....if we win out...we will win a MNC IMO.

I knew I wasn't long for the World last night so I DVRd the Post-Game and SportsCenter. I've been watching it this morning and they are really not mentioning us too much which is good IMO....but they did step all over Herbstreit's Back (He picked Oregon to be the new #1 this week) by saying we'll probably be the new #1.

This is gonna excite everyone from Sea to Shining Sea and the "Big Game Bob" crap is surely on it's way towards the message boards. So remember..."WE SUCK and There's NO FREAKING WAY WE'LL WIN OUT!". With those statements in your arsenal we should be able to cruise with Bob and the Team towards the Big XII CG and the MNC.

Hang on...it might get a bit bumpy.
