View Full Version : Lock of the week: NU by 3 TD's

Let's get this party started right!

I predict a score somewhere around 35-14. While I don't think T. Martinez will run wild on the whorns like he did against K-State I certainly think he will gash them for large chunks of yards. Much like the UCLA QB did. The problem is UT can't just pin their ears back and come after TM. They have to respect Helu (sp?) and the other back and hope their corners are good enough to defend the pass without much safety help. TM hasn't thrown the ball much this year but when he has he has been very effective. If he starts connecting down field I see a blowout coming. Especially since ut's offense is terrible. I think the wild card here is Gilbert. If he has a similar experience as LJ did last year they could lose by 35-40.

Before you start giving Nebraska undue praise...

Whom have they played to even think they will be Texass by 3 TDs?

Their opponents combined record to this point is 10-16.

I think Nebraska wins, but it will be closer than what people think. Texas has had 2 weeks to prepare for this game.

I'll take Teh whorns and 21 points

My predicition isn't based on NU's dominance, it's a matchup nightmare for the whorns. I was at the Ucla/ut game and UCLA had a decent RB and Running QB who could throw an acurate ball as well and they had their way with ut. Add to that GG's inexperience and NU's Defense and I think it's a runaway for the huskers.

This is true...however, Texas traditionally following a bye week just doesnt lose...even when playing us after a bye week.

I think they lose this one, but not by 21.

Nebraska has played some very very very weak defenses.

Texas= Washington and KSU IMO.

Nebraska puts 40 or 50 and rolls.

There's a big difference between "wanting to pass," and "having to pass."

Those Nebraska running backs ripped the Texas D for what... 32 yards last December?

double up their one quality, wide receiver, put a safety as the spy on Messikin Jebus, play disciplined defense.

Although, this is their one last, unholy jihad game. Their one last chance to get back at the Unholy Burnt Orange Satan who made them leave the Big 12 to go to the Big 10/11/whatever conference, where they will get more money and allegedly increase their academic standing.

Irony alert! -- They were pissed at Burnt Orange Satan for making them improve the academics in the Big 12 by leading the charge to prohibit Prop 48 casualties. (another one of those pesky 11 - 1 votes) Now, they brag about going to a conference with a greater academic reputation than the Big 12 conference.

The Buglickers may win tomorrow. But, that one win will not erase 14 years of agony.. heart breaking defeats again.. and again.. and again.. and again...

^ Lid, Neb didnt have a QB last year, remember what Slow Foot Kevin Prince did to you guys? I think 21 is way too much though, NEB 31 UT 23

Nebraska is 1-8 against Texas since the formation of the Big 12, with that one win coming in the 1999 Big 12 title game, after Texas had already beaten them in the regular season that year. The Horns just have Nebraska's number. The Huskers should win fairly comfortably, but I wouldn't be surprised if Texas eeks this one out. It will be an ugly game, I know that.

Texas had no clue what UCLA was gonna run because UCLA hadn't run it all year. Good smart move by UCLA.

Oklahoma didn't run against Texas very much and especially in the second half. Texas will sell out against the run and make Martinez beat them through the air. I would bet my left nut that martinez has less than 70 yards rushing.

OU ran for 186 yards against ut if you take out lost yardage due to sacks and our run to pass ratio was 52-39. Their run D is not great

Texas is not going to score on Nebraska.

Corn children will be slowed in first half but not stopped and they roll in the second half.

Bugeaters 17 plus.

If this thread had been started by JLEW, I would cash out an IRA and bet it on Texas (the points would help).

However, since the OP is not JLEW, I believe he is close to correct.

Sorry, Lid. There is still time to walk to the front of SoonerFans, confess, be Baptised in the Red River and feel fulfilled for the remainder of your life as you wear Crimson & Cream proudly.

I suspect this game will be closer than many think. I think you have to give the edge to Nebraska unless Texas has come up with some Offense in the last couple of weeks. They could have, if Davis is back and they can get DJ Monroe on the field it will help them a lot.

Even if Nebraska wins it won't erase the hate. I don't dislike Texas less because we beat them this year.

NU has 9 points now so unless they can get another FG and a Safety you can't even get the score right now.
