It's been a long week, and I am going to drink some beer and watch some football this weekend. Since I anticipate NU beating that one school from that one place in that one state, I figured I would ask y'all what beer goes best with Texas losing since y'all would know better than me.

You can't go wrong with some Sam Adam's (many flavors).

If it's a taste question, there's plenty that's better, but nothing else seems to grasp the spirit of the occasion this well...
(don't think I ever saw any when I lived in Lincoln though)

Bridgeport IPA or Sam Adams Oktoberfest (I know there are better ones but S.A. is widely available and decent). A good brown ale or porter would hit the spot this time of year as well.

So they had a Shiner Family pack on sale. I took that as a sign.

Sam Adams OctoberFest. Good blend this year, smooth and flavorful. Bought a case last weekend after taking a six pack for a test drive during the OU-Texass game.

Sam Adams Octoberfest is damn good.
But if you can get it, Spaten Oktoberfest is even better.

I just drank some LA31, a Gulf Coast pale ale. But it was too hoppy for me. So I bought a 6-pack of High Life pints. :D

The Gordon Biersch Oktoberfest sure was tasty after the OU/tx game this year. Both liters of them.

Not sure how that would be enjoyable. Unless you're drinking them incredibly fast, which takes away some of the enjoyment to begin with, that has to be a lukewarm tepid mess by the time you get to the bottom. I think I'll just stick with my pints.

You enjoy the first half, then slam the **** outta the bottom half. Then the second one tastes fantastic.

It stayed a wonderful temperature throughout. I was amazed. Must have something to do with the glass.

German beers aren't supposed to be ice cold. American beers are better ice cold because it numbs your taste buds so you don't actually have to taste them. ;)

I don't know where all they are located, but this Gordon Biersch was at the Legacy Shops just south of 121 in Frisco/Plano. The food was awesome, too. Due to the excellent results, (we had one the Friday before the game, too) I think this may become OU/tx tradition for me.

Ditto what others have said about Sam Adams' Oktoberfest.

Now that it's cold here, it's time to say goodbye to beer, and hello to cheap peppermint schnaaps. I'm going to be plenty warm for a night game in November in Nebraska.
temps for the night game in Tucson tonight - 55-66 deg. Beer for me!

Yeesh. Peppermint schnapps kills my stomach. I can't remember ever drinking it when it didn't make me nauseous. Too bad, because it tastes really good.
