I know what you are talking about. I'm old and something else. Hang on, I'll think of it.

Baby Jessica easily.

A) she was a baby and did not intend to be underground.
B) We did not have a camera showing her dancing around having fun killing time until rescued. Once we knew the miners were alive and could be rescued the story was just waiting to play itself out.

Good article. I also watched the video. It makes me wonder how someone can be so mind-numbingly stupid and yet so big in the news.

Yes, I'm referring to Matt Lauer.

Inept? Did you happen to notice that they saved them all? Duh. Sure they had some help, but the "Local American township" did it without any outside help? What? They dug the Baby J out with spoons collected by school kids from local kitchens. Or perhaps the superior magnificence of America's collective super-power x-ray vision alowed us to burn through the rocks by the sheer force of our national virtue and will-power? Your post is a model of jingoistic ignorance and buffoonery. Chile pulls its collective pants down at you. Doofus. :P

Also, jingoistic is a cool sounding word.

I put it up there with loquacious and onomatopoeia.

GRE, FTW!! Thanks again GDC!

Timmy O' Toole? I loved that Sting song about sending our love down the well.

Pfft. Chilean miners, easy. It would take like 500 cumulative years to replace all those miners, but you can plop out a new baby in what, nine or so months? Babies are totally expendable.

She’s 21 years old now, married since January 2006 to Daniel Morales and a college student.

Isn't that illegal? Editing FTW!

I bet they didn't give her a pair of $180 sunglasses or set her up so she wouldn't have to work for life either, the bastards. . .
