Not unless you are a site sponsor. However, it's meaningless, and it drives me crazy when people get worked up over it. I turned it off once because I was so annoyed, then everyone got all worked up over that. My advice is to not worry about it.

The regime at OUI basically called anybody who doesn't pay 'garbage posters' and said that to post on the football/basketball/other boards you will have to pay $9/months. But they would allow people to post on a off topic message board about whatever they wished.

People didn't like that, so now we are here.
