What does this even mean? I need some help.

"Overrated Result of the Half-Year, Part II: Oklahoma 47, Florida State 17 (30). Neither team has played a game resembling that one before or since. The Sooners have won their other four games, but by a combined total of only 20 points while ranking a sketchy 90th in rushing offense and 93rd in total defense. The Seminoles are otherwise unbeaten and have triumphed in every win by a minimum of 20 points."

Wow. Now ESPN is just getting desperate.

Edit: This article is a PERFECT example of why I want the computers to have 99 percent of the power in deciding rankings.

They earn their daily crust by writing stuff. 99% of what they write will be forgotten by next week.
Win out and the tone will change.

Plus, we've had a troubling tendency to play inconsistently and to allow way too many points.
Win out and the tone will change.

Just remember, ESPN was all about the "ROLL TIDE" until they turned into the TidyBowl, Now it's all about Ohio State..just wait till next week, I can hear it NOW..."HORN FROGS JUST CAN'T BE BEAT" LOL!!! ESPN is just a Joke and rides the wins unless it is about OU then we get a (blip) 15 sec. spot mention between the Kia commercial and DWS ad & then right back to another Conf team stats.

Garbage. Reminds me of the Reds this year in baseball; great record/stats against the lower tier NL losers but they get smacked down against the big boys.

I don't think there's anything inaccurate in the article. It's just saying that the OU-FSU result wasn't indicative of how the rest of the season has gone for both teams.

We haven't convincingly won any game except for that one.

Doesn't mean we won't keep winning, just saying the article is stating an opinion with arguments to back that opinion up.

They're right.

It shouldn't matter to anyone. The game is over and we won. But they're right.

Mmhmm... and what quality teams has FSU beaten?

Take away the spin and you get "top ten Oklahoma team has proven against a variation of different looks to bend, but not break on their way to 5-0, while demolishing FSU along the way."

On ESPN's BCS show Sunday night, the 'Clowns were mentioned as a common denominator when the discussion turned to OU & Utah (which just beat ISU 68-27). All I know is OU needs to release the Kraken on Iowa State Sat. night!

They have to write something.

NormanPride
10/12/2010, 03:48 PM
Why not write about WHY that game was different? As in the fact that we have WRs that match up well with their DBs, and how our D is better suited to stop their type of offense than any of the others we've faced. Or how once we got up on them they had to become one-dimensional and Ponder had a terrible day.

He just says the 1 game is an exception for both teams; I see nothing wrong with that. It is the only game OUr has shown killer instinct and closed a game out early even though it appeared they were capable in other games. From my point of view, it shows OU is capable and thus can get better and also shows FSU is not a total doormat. It was only 1 of his 40 observations, so he's not trying to go into depth and not much to read into it.

It's just Forde. He's a d*uche. And on the d*ucheometer, he's a little d*uche-ier than most.

He doesn't like OU at all. The BCS title game vs. Florida really brought out how much a ****** he is.

No, Miami was #13, FSU was #19 at kickoff last Saturday.

Must have been thinking of the Michigan v MSU game, they were 17th and 18th going into that game I think.

This is all such a hard question to answer, who can know these things?
