Wow. Who's the bigger moran? Childress for not going for 1 or the Jets OC for that time management mess?

Well not going for 1 doesnt really matter, they still win with a FG.

The time management was close to Les Miles bad...Rex Ryan is an idjit for allowing that

Just w/ a whole quarter left and the score 15-13 you have to kick the extra pt incase the jets score again...

I could see it either way.

either way youve got to make a 2 point conversion at some point. might as well try it earlier so you know what youre dealing with. they were making a huge deal of this on Sportscenter which I thought was incredibly stupid and 20/20 hindsight.

Tavaris Jackson would have no problem throwing 5 TDs and 7 INTs, thats for sure

Vikes and Cowboys have to be the biggest dissapointments so far this year and they are practically mirror images of each other.

Both offenses are stocked with talent at Skill positions, but they both have suspect O-Lines and starting QBs that, while they can make all the throws, make bad decisions when the game is on the line and they are having to play from behind.

Both defenses have a good to great pass-rush, and are generally good defenses with the exception that neither create any turnovers.

They just so happen to play each other this week in what is certainly an elimination game for whoever loses. Granted the NFL schedule makers didn't do either of these teams a favor, but both of these teams are playing waaaayyy below their potential.

I don't get the argument about going for 1 vs 2. The fact is that Minny needed to go for 2 at some point. Their chances aren't any better by doing it after the second TD than doing it after the first TD. In fact, you could argue that they had a better chance after the first TD because it wasn't required at that point.

In fact, had the defenses taken over the game from that point on it would have looked pretty stupid kicking the extra point and losing 15-14.

Maybe it makes you feel better to remain a score away for longer but at the end of the day you still have to convert a 2 point try.

I understand the point that you don't want to be chasing that missed conversion all game long so it makes little sense to go for 2 on the second quarter. Had the Jets kicked a couple of more field goals leaving Minny down by 8 instead of 7 then you would have an argument but at that point in the game that scenario is improbable.

IMO, the way it turned out (last NYJ TD excluded) really validated the choice to go for 2. If you go for 2 at the end of the game and miss you lose. If you go for two the first time and miss, you know you're 2 possessions down and can alter your gameplan accordingly.

Dude, TJ would have trouble throwing 5 completions. That guy is about as bad a QB as I have ever seen in the league.

58.4 career completion %, 21 TDs, 18 INTs, helped take the Vikes to the playoffs in 08. He is no Tom Brady but the guy isnt horrible

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha! :D

Are we ready for some more Vikings trivia?

Q: What does the announcer say after Brett Favre completes a pass?

A: INTERCEPTION!

Q: What's the difference between Randy Moss and a dollar bill?

A: You can still get four quarters out of a dollar!

Q: How do Vikings count to 15?

A: 0-1, 0-2, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5, 1-6, 1-7, 1-8, 1-9, 1-10, 1-11, 1-12, 1-13, 1-14, 1-15!

But Vikings are a tad bit slow... they're only up to three right now :D

GO PACK GO!

And both losses have HUGE asterisks next to them - one in OT, one on the road after a billion penalties. We'll win the division, don't you worry about it :D

Teacher: What do you call something that plays dead at home and gets killed on the road?

Student: A possum?

Teacher: A VIKING!

I knew it was a word that you all would recognize here. Yes, they're losses, but they're losses that don't carry much weight in an argument, cuz they were close and there's no BCS, AP or Coaches polls in the NFL, so no worries about style points here :D

What's that? You want some MORE Vikings trivia???

Q: What do you call Vikings with Super Bowl rings?

A: Ex-Packers. Or thieves.
