On the NFL pregame they mention Terry has a ranch in Oklahoma(which was news to me).In an interview with Bradshaw Sam said an invite to the ranch would Terry up on his list of icons. I thought Sam was comfortable in the spotlight and was a good representative of OU and Oklahoma.

Bradshaw has one near Thackerville where he raises racing horses, he also recently bought some property in Florida and splits his time between the two.

A bunch of North Texas people have been buying properties in Southern Oklahoma, I know of several in the DFW area who have bought lake properties in Oklahoma because they are cheaper than the Texas properties and the property taxes are minuscule compared to what they are in Texas.

Don't forget Winstarr, that thing just prints money, eventually that land may be worth a lot of money if more building occurs around there.

Side note: Thackerville is where they busted the illegal horse racing last year, someone on google earth just randomly saw it and alerted the OSBI.

There is your random Oklahoma fact for the day

Terry Bradshaw has talked about Thackerville on various talk shows. It is close enough to Dallas that it would not be a bad place to be since it is also only 90 minutes or so south of Norman. They have quite a few good concerts at the Winstar Casino and seem almost to draw more folks from Texas than from the Oklahoma City area. It would be a great place other than you have to be subjected to second hand cigarette smoke from the gambling nicotine addicts.

He lived in Dallas for a lot of years and when he got interested in the horse business he found out land was cheaper just across the border but still within a decent travel distance to DFW for his traveling.

I thought Troy Aikman also purchased a ranch in/near Thackerville? Could be wrong, but I thought I saw they say they were neighbors somewhere.

I like Bradshaw. He's funny and fairly humble for all that he has accomplished.

I agree with you Leroy, but to be fair, you have to admit that Bradshaw accomplished most of that a really long time ago. Geez, I was a little kid when he was winning Superbowls (Super Bowls? I never remember), and I am "ahem" no long a little kid.

Winstar is closer to dfw than OKC. with casinos everywhere ,few are gonna drive down to Winstar. my guess (just a guess) is that 70 to 80% of WS
patrons are from tejas.

and it's nearly always very busy.
