1- Gundy, who is now a 43-year-old man, has 40 wins as head coach of the Pokes. He is one of only three Poke coaches to have amassed 40 wins, but the other two did it faster [hairGel]

2- Poke State, while undefeated so far this season, have not been on the road thus far this year. This will be the first road test, and it just happens to be against a Sun Belt conference team :les:

3- The Pokes are losers... historical losers. They need four more NET wins to reach an overall .500 record for football. Thus, if they lose tonight, they'll be even farther away :stunned:

I had a dorm friend from Louisiana and Lafayette is not a very respected school. The Ragin' Cajuns are apparently known as "Ooo La la" because their full name is University of Lousiana - Lafayette, or U-La-La...ooo la la.

Anyway, for all of you that remember the Poke choke of 2007 or so against Troy, this might be another episode of TGIF. And... it's bye week, so happy friday night game, everyone! :)

Heh! My brother is a graduate of U La La. It was Southwest Louisiana back then. He was studying petroleum engineering at OU and then transferred to U La La because they had a special program where students could work 7 days offshore on an oil rig and then spend the next week in the classroom. It more than paid for his education with money to spare. My brother said that it was still ranked within the top 20 petroleum engineering degrees in the country and they actually had an oil well on campus. I don't know if any of this is true now and they may never be a football powerhouse, but I love the Ragin Cajun mascot.

I am most certainly going to root for any Louisiana team to be competitive and attract athletes besides LSU. I truly hate them.

That said, their defense is still slow and awful.

Weeden is not a top 3 QB in the league (Cajuns dropped several interceptions).
