The Cocks are pretty much firing on all cylinders nowadays, and the planets are aligning for a big upset. I can feel it.

Nope. I just don't think South Carolina is good enough to beat them, especially if Bama shuts down Lattimore.

After watching the arky game...yes the cocks can win this game. And bama is not going to shut lattimore down.

OU_Sooners75
10/6/2010, 09:58 PM
Okay.

Don't take what I'm saying as me saying the cocks win. What I'm saying is that lattimore is the real deal and sc has just a good chance as anyone does at beating Bama. The question is does the cocks have the defense? No!

silverwheels
10/6/2010, 10:03 PM
Lattimore is the real deal, but unfortunately South Carolina does not have the passing game to help him out. If Bama can pick off Mallett 3 times, you have to wonder how badly they'll embarrass the Gamecocks' QBs. I think it will be close for awhile, and then Bama will get some kind of big play to end the first half and the rout will be on.

Garcia is no mallett that is for sure. but he has a much better oline. Arkansas has no rushing attack. Nama was droppinf6 or 7 guys almost every down.

That definitely effects the passing game.

Well w/ Arkansas they passed to open up the run. They passed more. South Carolina will run the ball most of the game so if they don't turn it over the game will stay close and they can control the clock. South Carolina also has a better defense(especially run D) than Arkansas and had a bye to prepare. Garcia isn't consistent at all but if Lattimore isn't bottled up then SC easily has a chance. I think this will be around a 3 point game(in anyones favor) if South Carolina doesn't turn it over.

McElroy doesn't look like a bus driver anymore to me and while Bama hasn't been this year what they were a year ago defensively, it's not like they're struggling anywhere near as much as we have or most other teams. They'll line up and Ingramize USC to death, then hit them with Richardson, then they'll expose USC like everybody has done since Spurrier came into there. He's not the same coach without assistants like Bob Stoops and talent pools like Florida. His offense nowadays looks like a poor man's Colt McCoy offense. As much as I doubted Bama being able to reload so quickly, and I know ot ain't over yet... I think they've got this one. And no, I'm not putting stock in beating an average Florida team in Tuscaloosa.

It won't happen unless Garcia somehow channels VY or something. It may be close, but SC doesn't have ark's passing, which might be the weakness for the tide.

Afterall,
Maybe I do know more in this case because of teaching and coaching it...experience usually accounts for knowledge.

Bama isn't going to lose until the national championship game in whch they are built up for a month by ESPN as unbeatable, etc. A team largely overlooked all year, that is palying a lot of young guys, has gotten better each game, but hasn't gotten a lot of love from the "experts" is going to come in super motivated and knock them off.

sooner_born_1960
10/7/2010, 09:59 AM
I think it'll be a close game until someone scores. Then it will become close again if the other team scores. It will remain a close game as long as both teams score pretty close to the same number of points. If one team scores substantially more points than the other, it'll turn into a rout.

Take it to the bank.

No excuses, and congrats to the 'cocks--they simply wanted it more than our guys did. We got beat in every facet of the game--on the LOS, in particular, which where we all know most games are decided. And the sad thing is, SC is not that great of a team. They lost to Auburn and I predict will get rolled by UF. But for 60 mins today they were the better team, and that's all that counts.

Oh well, we are out of the NC race but we can still go to ATL and possibly win the SEC--but we've got MAJOR work to do first. Playing like this, we will not beat LSU or Auburn.

You guys still have shot at getting to Glendale, and your path got a little easier today with us falling. Good luck, maybe my 'other' favorite team in crimson can bring home the crystal ball!

Alabama may actually benefite for losing so early in the season!

As long as they win out, they will benefite from some help in the future. They may make it to another BCS Title, but you are not driving the ship now.

It's possible, recall UF did it two yrs ago even with losing to Ole Miss at home. But I don't recall a logjam that season of unbeatens in the top 5 like we have now. It's not likely to happen.

It happened 3 years ago for LSU as well.

Just because there are ton of undefeated teams doesnt mean anything right now.

We are only 6 weeks into the season and conference games are just really getting started.

I'm calling them now:

OSU will lose.
Oregon will lose.
Boise will lose or be excluded unless there are no undefeated teams.
Nebraska will lose.

They'll still be ahead which will suck.

I highly doubt it.

The voters are coming around at this point in the year.

Losing on the road by 14 is not worth staying in the top 7.

take away a safety, which resulted in a boneheaded play, the win is 16. You can also say that the safety resulted in a total of 5 points for Bama. So you could say you could take away 5 points thanks to that boneheaded play by Garcia.

IF so, then the MOV would have been 19.

Not really a close game. And yes, I realize the points stay on the board, just using the IF game to look at how close the game wasn't.

Alabama falls to #7 or #8.

They will fall behind,

1. OSU
2. Oregon
3. Boise State
4. Oklahoma (Should be over TCU)
5. Nebraska (should also be ahead of TCU)
6. TCU
7. Alabama
8. Arizona
9. Auburn
10. South Carolina

That would be my Top 10
