When it rains it pours!

Today at 4:09 PM my grandfather passed away. This is following the news of a dear friend of mine passing away just 5 days before.

My grandfather was perhaps the greatest American I knew.

He served in WWII as a navy mechanic. He later retired after 10 years of service (full pension) and re-enlisted in the Air Force as a mechanic there. Where he served for 10 years and got full pension. He was also in Korea for that war as well.

After retiring from the Military for good, he went on to work for the US Postal service for 25 years. He and his wife (Emily - My grandmother R.I.P), traveled to all 50 states in their retirement. They enjoyed it.

he never bought anything made from another country! It did not matter if he had to go without, if it was not made here in the USA, he did not buy it or want it!

My grandpa earn a Bronze Star and 2 Purpler Hearts (1 each war). There are other awards he won while in the military but I cannot remember them all.

Anyway, say a prayer once again for my mother and her family. This was her last parent alive.

He was 89 years old.

GodSpeed Grandpa!

You got it Bro.

In on the Prayers and thanks for the history on your GrandFather. Folks like him made us all stronger as he and so many others served and survived those Wars so that we all can continue to keep this the Greatest Country in the World and to help keep most of the folks in this World safe from those who wish to rule over us instead of live among us.

Thanks everyone.

I wish he wasn't such a quiet man when it come to his war stories. He never talked about what he saw or did while in the comabt areas. I do no this, though he was a mechanic I know he saw his share of combat.

I know why he never spoke of his time in war, but I wish I had more to give. He obviously did something great for winning a bronze star.

Anyway, we bury my grandfather in McKinney, TX on monday.
