As long as I've had to listen to ********* UT fans harping over the "crying sooner boy" picture, Aaron Williams and the statesman has the salve.

47, you always have "Crying in the middle of the field Vince" to fall back on to those UT fans.

Not sure why he was crying. The muffed punt wasn't the worst play in the game.

No documented tears there. Plus fresher meat is always better.

the real question is does Nathan Vasher feel bad for him, or relief for himself?

Not sure why he was crying. The muffed punt wasn't the worst play in the game.IMO Landry's unprovoked fumble was, except the outcome could have been worse.

IMO Landry's unprovoked fumble was, except the outcome could have been worse.

That was a meltdown and would have been huge, but I'll ignore it since it was a non-issue. The texas penalties were imo huge and stupid.

Tragic.

i was on the field at OU/texas (90, 91, 92), and saw joe bowden crying after never beating texas - '91 game possibly - walked right past me. i know how crappy i felt after we lost. these guys DO put it all out there in every game - more in OU/texas.

still, it's fun when it happens to the bad guys.

Well last year he took out our quarterback (not intentionally) and was jumping up and down about it...this year he muffs a punt and now whos jumping up and down?

I don't get why people think it's wrong to cry, and I'll admit that UT fans have been brutally rude when it comes to pointing out crying OU fans. Then again, I've seen pics of UT fans crying too.

You know some of the best players in each sport have cried in public, Jordan, Gretsky, Elway.

I teared up after a UT game once, it was after Texas beat USC. Tears of joy. It's called emotion. Crying is not a sign of weakness.

I wouldn't dream of dissing Wayne Gretzky, I've met the man and he's a class act all the way. Got a chuckle from him when I insisted that Robert Gordon Orr was the greatest to lace up a pair of skates.

This Gretsky guy on the other hand, I shall mock greatly.

It's not wrong to cry... if you're a female... and it isn't something so silly as a football game.

Glad we won, but I don't get any joy seeing a player feel he caused the loss with a late gaffe. Plenty of horns screwed the pooch throughout the contest and this guy just happened to be the last one. But it's part of the game.

Just different strokes - I did feel great joy in Winchester's reaction to the recovery.

This reminds me of a few of my favorite quotes:

- Jack Handey

"Crying is for f@#$%ing b@#$%es."

Gilbert should do the kid a favor and just tell him the truth, "Ya know, from the outside in, you'd think you cost us a shot at the game, but you, me and the offensive coaching staff KNOW that there is no way in hades that we march down the field and score a touchdown if you fielded the punt."

Between Mike pulling a fast one in '84 (Stanberry & the UT fumble weren't the only horrible calls in that one), & now his kid sealing the deal this year, I wonder if UT's getting tired of Winchesters yet.......:D

Here's an idea.

CATCH THE DAMNED FLIPPIN BALL AND YOU WON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO CRY ABOUT!!! ESPECIALLY A FAIR CATCH!

That's two you dropped in 5 flippin' games!

Here's even a better idea...

Don't put his *** back there to catch, (or in his case, ATTEMPT) to catch a punt.

For now, it's Aaron Williams Punt Retuner Fumbles 2
Aaron Williams Punt Returner for Touchdown 0.

There's no crying in baseball. Football is another matter.

I feel badly for the kid, personally. It was the last gasp and it'll be remembered like Gideon's near interception at Tech. Sad.

I don't think we would have had time to drive the field using all those brilliant 2 yard out routes we love to execute.

Nah, you would have hit an apparent TD pass as time expired which would have been called back on an illegal formation call. Saved us all the trouble.

Well, ya got me there. Defensive stats look pretty healthy when you realize 100 yards of offense came on two plays.

(Which, honestly, is why we were all worried about giving the ball back to you even at midfield.)
