That's because standard def makes us seem as slow as all their teams and they can keep up.

Yeah... Big Teneleventwelve fans don't like that their DVR is stuck in fast-forward whenever they watch National games. :D

I noticed this with a prior game. I have no idea why they do that. If it's being shot with HD cameras and the station it's being on is an HD channel, then why wouldn't they show the game in HD?

dooshbaggery. I don't have HD service or an HD set though, so makes no difference to me.

Gah tv is so much better in hd, especially sports and other things acctually filmed with an hd camera.

Yeah, I know but there always seems to be something else to buy that's more important. At least I have a big 1080p monitor on my computer where I always watch movies.

I'm in Big 10 country and the advertised SD feed on Dish Network ch. 145 is blacked out. GamePlan only...in SD...$24 for the weekend if one is a Dish Network customer outside the ABC HD coverage area...

Because of the greater bandwidth required for HD, SD is cheaper than HD for satellite costs.

Oh I recognize that. However, if it was all about that, ESPN/ABC would list it as HD and leave it to the individual providers to show that it was in SD.
