I was watching the ESPN Classic rerun of OU/TX 84 and noticed the hat. Cant believe a coach would have the balls to wear something like this. Wish I could find one.

I've got a little red x hat I wear on my peckerhead on special occasions.

If we had any swagger, you'd understand that it's much more than just a red x.

Society is to politically correct to see a coach wear that now. People would be offended and there would be apologies.

I sat through the downpour of that game as well. Thing that amazed me was how quickly the whorn fans left after the tying field goal went through the uprights. They wanted outta there before someone realized just how badly OU was ripped off that day.

The surprising thing about The King was that he could walk at all. I mean, trying to move with balls that big must be murder.

Wrong. He's wearing it at the Texas game. Not to every football game.

Didn't he borrow that hat from a fan because it started pouring...I thought I'd heard that from somewhere.

I could believe that. I don't remember him wearing any sort of headgear during games, as a rule.

Of course, there were always exceptions.

My wife and I were there too. Worst rip until Oregon.

Switzer wore hats from time to time. You'd see him in one when it was especially windy or if there was precipitation.

I remember that! In fact, I could swear my dad has a hat something similar to that. I'll ask him tomorrow.

Oh and btw, Stanberry was IN!!!!! Still pissed off about that game!!!

Of course Stan was in. There was a poster sold showing him about 1 yard inside the inzone LYING DOWN ON THE TURF.
With a dam Texan ref standing there looking at him.

And the caption read:

THE EYES OF TEXAS....

Bringing up the fond memories... and some very painful ones.

Thanks for the Switzer Hats!
