I was in an Irish bar last week. Not being real well versed in the nuances of Irish Whiskey I tried some. I didn't really dig it that much. I think I like the peat found in Scotch a lot more.

That's why I drink Irish as my everyday medicine (and when Dean's buyin) and Scotch for certain sompin sompins.

Yes it is some smoky scotch. I let it "air out" a bit and I swear that I could taste the wood it was aged in.

Funny note: I let my wife have a sip and watched her eyes go back in her head immediately. I told her that 46% alcohol could do that to a person. :D

pffft. Homos. If you want "smokey" you need to try Vet's latest version of OVJ. My favorite comment so far this year has been "that **** tastes like bacon." I go "bacon?" "Yeah, smoked bacon."

46%? Have her try the 55% OVJ.

Personally, the Irish smoke the Scots on the whisky front. If you want smooooooooth, drink Irish. If you want your throat to get bit, drink Scotch. Either way, I can drink them, but Irish is the ticket.
