I'ts our 1st time going to the OU texas game. Leaving Friday AM, been saving up to go all out (except for the $60 all you can eat deal lol). Wanted to get your opinions of what we should do for an Ideal weekend?! We are staying 3 miles from State Fair park in Dallas. Holliday Inn Express on E. RL Thornton FWY. Thanks in advance for your info! It's 10:12pm on Wed. night and Texas still INHALES DEEPLY! :)

Go the West End Friday night. Lots of Oklahoma Texas fans. I think there will be some live music. It's basically the Victory Park area... aka American Airlines Center. (where the mavs play). House of Blues is fun.

My ideal Texas weekend: Drive down Saturday morning. Go to the game. Watch us stomp Texas. Get a funnel cake. Go home.

I'm doing the West End one last time since this is my last year as a student. I don't get so hammered that I end up in the drunk tank or can't find my way back to my hotel. I avoid the chants/fighting/other conflicts/police and basically just watch the evening start semi-tame and slowly descend to hell in a handbasket. After this year, its adios.

Friday before the party starts head to Texas De Brazil. It's all you can eat and will set you back about $45 plus alcohol. Strategy: Don't waste time on cheap cuts of meat. Only get the Filet Mignon (with or without bacon wrap) and the house special.

Party right up to the point of getting thrown into jail.

Saturday pre-game meal: Original Pancake House. Get the dutch big apple and a side of bacon. It's about 4,000-5,000 calories to start the day.

Pre-game warm up: any thing fried at the state fair, another couple of thousand calories.

Post Victory: Several places to celebrate: Morton's, Al Beirnet's, Bob's, Kirby's - just more after bevo beef.

Finally, instead of shooting straight back across the Red on Sunday, go West young man! Hit Risky's BBQ in the stockyards and the $9.99 all you can eat beef ribs. The goal?? Fill up a bucket with bones before you leave.
