Stoops and co. don't want to score more than enough this year. I think it will not be 60+ score but at least 45+.

You were right on your FSU prediction. But I'm thinking your prediction of #1 by October 15th might be a little off.

I think I'll have faith in this one though.

As much as I HOPE TO GOD that we beat texas by 21+ so I can enjoy the entire game as opposed to being stressed the entire time, I just dont see us winning by more than 10-14 on the upside

I been around longer than Vet. '72 I was sitting in the upper deck of the Cotton Bowl with a 5 team parlay ticket in my pocket. At halftime, as they were announcing scores from around the nation, (No Blackberrys then) I was easily covering 4 of the 5. The one I was not covering was OU -21. It was 3-0. We kicked to fexass to start the second half. They did llittle on their first two downs and tried a quick kick on 3rd. Kick was blocked by Selmon, knocked into the endzone by Selmon and recovered by Selmon for a TD. The rout was on. Final: OU 27 - whorns 0. I cashed the ticket on Monday.

21+

I sure hope you're right.

21+ would make for a great day at Fair Park.

But, I'm not greedy.

I'll take another 1 or 2 point win.....as long as it's a W.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Florida State type game. Texas has such a lethargic offense that if they get behind it could get ugly quick.

One of two things will happen.

Ou will win HUGE.

BUT

If the game is very close, Ou will lose.

Stoops, Wilson and Vulnerable are front runners...as is your team.

I think it will be close but I hope not. tu should have had the advantage last week because the visitors had to travel a long way and the 94% with high humidity should have been a very big advantage. I hope this tells us something. No turnovers and good field position and we win.

I'm in the same boat. I want to believe we can take advantage of the weakness we've seen in UT all season, but we haven't been able to consistently exploit the weaknesses of our opponents so far. I got embarrassed in Vegas last weekend trying to guess what would happen against Cincy. No more guesses from me. I'm just along for the ride.

But I like the confidence from everyone else. ;)

It all depends on whether 5 int Landry shows up or 3-4 TD Landry shows up. Our defense was incredible last year in this game and I think they will have a chance to be great in this game again this year, primarily because UTerus is not as good on offense this year.

We would have to score in the 50's to win by 21.

I'm not against scoring half-a-hunnerd on the whorns ... but, unfortunately, I think you're right considering the defense so far this year. Just win!

5 int Landry has only shown up once, ever

I had a dream. In this dream I was a fly on the wall of Bob's office throughout the season so far. It was obvious that OU had only prepared for one of its previous four opponents. The rest of the time Bob, which was strangely reminiscent of early 2000s Bob (aggressive, fake punts, trick plays, etc), was preparing for the whorns. OU went out and beat Texas like a drum. 2000, 2003 style. Oh, ... it was a wet dream.

Landry won't matter this game. He's played great ever since the Utah State game. The game will rely more on the defense.

The truth is anything can happen. If OU turns the ball over a lot they could get beaten badly, but I doubt that happens. It's weird, because I don't buy the premise that they lose a close game.

This team is different than past teams. For some weird reason, they are good in tight games and win the close ones. We will see what happens. One thing is for sure, rivalry games are not typical.

Defensive struggle. UT's offense doesn't impress me and OU defense can play, as demonstrated at FSU. UT's defense looks very good and I think we'll struggle.

I think we may have the edge on special teams. I foresee this game being similar to 2004 (12-0) or 2006 (we lost because of turnovers, mostly, and a weaker defense).

If we win by more than seven I'll be pleasantly surprised. We cannot turn over the ball, and we need to force some turnovers, play field position and defense.

Historically, team with fewest turnovers and best run game wins this puppy. We're halfway there...at least on paper. I don't see UT running well on us. And so far, UT is the one with the turnover problem.

I shudder to think we may have to count on Jimmy Stevens, but there it is.

21 points?

I wish I had the confidence you have, Rus.

I'm thinking of a tighter game due to the defenses (and yes, ours will step up)... but with this series, whoever is hungrier takes it.
