they seemed to have lagged with their technology a bit

if you want more than a lighted club, Surefire, Streamlight or Fenix is a better choice most of the time

Coleman looks like they are doing some interesting things to compete though

I have several Coleman flashlights. Extremely rugged and bright but don't cost $150 like Surefires.

I've always thought Maglites sucked. Twisting the head to turn it on is so inconvenient that I haven't used one in 15 years.

Surefire = flipping awesome. I can get a flashlight that fits in the palm of my hand that's several times brighter than the gigantic foot-and-a-half long Maglite.

On July 4th, my fiance and his bro-in-law were setting off fireworks. Bro-in-law had a puny maglite and they had a hard time seeing what they were lighting. I turned on my surefire from 20 yards away--lit them up like a spotlight.

They have a 220 lumen one, but I have the 80 lumen focused beam (superbeam). It is almost as bright as my surefire, but it runs on 2 AA batteries.

I remember back many years ago being told in the custody and control training at CLEET, "your flashlight in NOT a weapon". I heard alot of mumbled "yeah, rights" that day...
