made in Southern California. Not China.
And they are pretty good flashlights. And they cost exactly the same as they did in 1979.

How is that possible?
I really like my 3D LED maglite...It's great for those springtime power outages.
Also great as a blunt instrument.

Great for stunning the hooker before you finish her off.

Dean, you are nothing if not resourceful.

they need to drop the incandescents IMO
they seemed to have lagged with their technology a bit
if you want more than a lighted club, Surefire, Streamlight or Fenix is a better choice most of the time
Coleman looks like they are doing some interesting things to compete though

I have several Coleman flashlights. Extremely rugged and bright but don't cost $150 like Surefires.
I've always thought Maglites sucked. Twisting the head to turn it on is so inconvenient that I haven't used one in 15 years.

Surefire = flipping awesome. I can get a flashlight that fits in the palm of my hand that's several times brighter than the gigantic foot-and-a-half long Maglite.

But not as good a weapon.

besides, 200 lumens would do a number on the BG's night vision
i carry one of these all the time:

perhaps...but it's much easier to hold a surefire and a glock at the same time :D
On July 4th, my fiance and his bro-in-law were setting off fireworks. Bro-in-law had a puny maglite and they had a hard time seeing what they were lighting. I turned on my surefire from 20 yards away--lit them up like a spotlight.

The first one is pretty cool. I understand it's perfect for settling cantina disagreements.

This is great for a different kind of outage...

That's the one I have, except the regular halogen, not the led.
I have one from this site. www.goodnightflashlights.com
They have a 220 lumen one, but I have the 80 lumen focused beam (superbeam). It is almost as bright as my surefire, but it runs on 2 AA batteries.

I remember back many years ago being told in the custody and control training at CLEET, "your flashlight in NOT a weapon". I heard alot of mumbled "yeah, rights" that day...
