Probably a hotel room in Sherman still available

Hotel Lumen (highland park)
Palomar (highland park)
The W Hotel (downtown)
Fairmont (downtown)

I might suggest orbitz.com or something like that and specify the dates you intend on being here. Most everything has been sold out for months.

Mansion at Turtle Creek

I stayed at The Crescent Court with my old man in 07--super nice.

Also went to a party that year at the Hotel ZaZa the night before the game, where there were a few guys from the Cowboys and Mavericks hanging out, which meant the female talent there was mind-boggling.

Super 8 is off the chain.

The last place I stayed in the metro was the Hyatt near the ballpark in Arlington, it was the weekend of the NBA all star game and had a blast.

There are some "value" motels on Harry Hines that have hourly up to weekly rates. That would be a great way experience the full spectrum of Dallas culture. :texan:

If $ is no issue, then this is the best option.

You can stay in north Dallas and take DART downtown.

As shared in a previous post, do yourself a favor and stay in North TX and take the DART down to the cotton bowl. Anything north of the George Bush Tolllway will work, the DART station is in Plano around Park or Parker. you should be able to find any number of nice places in Plano, McKinney, Allen, or Frisco.

Good luck

The Fairmont downtown has been running ads on the radio down here and I heard a few during the OU radio broadcast Saturday night. Back when I went every year that was where we typically stayed, it is pretty close to the West End and usually has a pretty good crowd around there.

The renaissance is fairly close to the west end and has rooms available. I always stay there when I go to dallas. It's a 4*. Fairly reasonably priced as well. But only single bed rooms available I think.

The DART also runs along side of it. However, last year it was pretty packed from people trying to get on since DART was clueless last year.

We got tickets late also. We booked a partial trip through Bently Hedges in OKC. We're not taking the bus down, but are staying at the hotel and taking the shuttle into the fairgrounds and back to the hotel.

DART was an absolute cluster fu#K last year but they claim this year will be better. Capacity will be up 10% with hopes to move 7,500 people an hour with 150,000 trips. I'm still not sure how they're going to carry all the whorn fans that leave at halftime after OU builds a 28 - 0 lead.
