Didn't see it mentioned over here, but we lost a great one today. George Blanda played for Coach Bear Bryant at Kentucky and had an incredible NFL career. He played 26 seasons and didn't retire until he was 48 yrs old. To put that in perspective, Brett Favre would have to play 6 more years to equal him in longevity.

RIP George.I recall Blanda kixking and playing QB for Oakland when I was a kid.

For some perspective, he actually retired after the 1958 season because the Bears were going to use him as a place kicker only. He came out of retirement in 1960 when the AFL was formed and signed with the Oilers as a QB and kicker. He threw his last touchdown pass for the Raiders in 1974.
