Just some info I looked up that I thought would be of interest

1: Since the 1st game against Utah St, Landry has completed over 69% of his passes with 7 TDs and only 1 INT

2: In Garrett Gilberts last two games, the two games in which he has played against decent teams he is completing 63% of his passes with 3 TDs and 6 TO's (4 INTs)

3: Based on the most recent rankings, OU has played 2 opponents ranked in the nations top 30, UT hasnt played a single team ranked in the top 35

4: Stoops is 3-1 against ut when winning the game prior to the RRS by a TD or less or losing. The one loss came in 99'

5: Texas is ranked 60th or worse in every major offensive category as a team

6: The two other times that ut came into the RRS with 1 loss and OU was undefeated, OU scored the two biggest margins of victory in RRS history

7: OU is 3-0 against UT under Stoops when scoring a defensive TD

Feel Free to add more interesting facts...

With one exception (2008) the consensus higher ranked team has won every year in the Stoops vs. Brown era (note: in '00, OU was higher in the AP, UT in the coaches).

Traber picked OU to win but today said he things Texas will win.
Mark Rogers agrees.

I think if both teams play to their ability OU runs away with it. If OU plays down to the compitition it's gonna be a nail biter.

Oh, and OU is undefeated when I take a bubble bath the tuesday night before the RRS.

Here are some interesting #'s

The team who is up at half is only 5-4, it has been tied twice
The team who is up after the 3rd quarter is 9-1, it has been tied once

Basically, the RRS is won in the 3rd quarter most seasons, the one exception was 02' when OU outscored ut 21-7 in the 4th

9/27/2010, 04:58 PM
If you have a power running game you can gash the texas defense for huge chunks of yards. (OU doesn't appear to have a power running game)

Gilbert doesn't seem to throw the football further than 15 yards downfield and they have had more drops then OU seemed to have last year. They totally look out of sync with Gilbert running the offense. He was slow against UCLA too. Not sure if he is a runner or not but against UCLA he looked slow.

I actually agree with this quote from CFN.com

Oklahoma is sure going to make things interesting. It’s as if it needs a challenge before it can rise up and play at its highest level, and it screws up to put itself in a hole. With 13 penalties against Cincinnati, and one costly turnover, the Sooners had to scrape by in a game it had well in hand, but the defense helped the cause in key moments and the Bearcats kept screwing up worse. Even with the problems, the pressure will be all on OU’s side in the Red River Rivalry after the clunker Texas came up with. If OU can keep the errors to a bare minimum, Texas will do the imploding.

Considering the fact that we are now four weeks going on five in the season, I really doubt we are still holding back our playcalling.

We always hold stuff back on both sides of the ball until the uterus game. That is fact. Now im not sayin that is why we can't tackle, insist on making stupid penalties, and give up big plays, but we do hold stuff back before the whorns.

I'm just hoping its the team that was flying all over the place being physical against fsu that shows up sat. If its the D that looks lost and misses tackles except for the ones out of bounds it could be a long day.

We will score

I just don't know why that is such a good idea. Just let the guys go with what they're working on. I don't see the logic in risking four games in order to get a little extra trickeration for one game. Doesn't seem like a balanced tradeoff to me.

I simply don't buy the holding back, and if we are doing that, it's not why we havn't been very good defensively. Hopefully we'll see what we saw in week two.

Q says that by the time he leaves, Colvin will be one of the best CBs in OU history

Stoops today on defending run better by running 4-3 defense instead of 4-2-5: "It isn’t that simple, It’s are you capable of tackling? Are you capable of being in right position? That’s what usually results in those runs."

I was definitely impressed with his cover skills he showed at Cincy. And that one flag is understandable. The CB is at a complete disadvantage in that situation and the refs are itching to throw the flag. The Packers just lost to the Bears on the exact same call.
