Landry Jones?!

This is just offensive player of the week, yeah, and I know they have to recognize the Big 12 North occasionally, but it is an ABSOLUTE TRAVESTY that the player of the game didn't get honored too!

Some Iowa State guy steals defensive player honors (http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/OU/article.aspx?subjectid=92&articleid=20100927_92_0_NORMAN482525)

You all know who I'm talking about... NELSON!!!!!!

Hail, Nelson. You are awesome, even if the Big 12 doesn't acknowledge it.

I think this exposes a problem with awards - they are based on statistics and not on actually watching the game. There is no statistic for knocking the ball lose from an endzone-bound wide receiver, preventing the other team just in the nick of time from scoring.

I am sure Stoops gave Nelson a game ball, while Josh gave Landry an earfull.

Nelson had a great first half the other night.

Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Colorado, and Texas A&M all had the week off. Texas also used the week to rest up, but in doing so were charged with a loss.

I don't see the controversy. Nelson plays defense.
