Saw today on espn that Landry was 90 percent sure he wanted to be a pastor after graduation. I didn't know that he was a religious person, at least not pastor religious.

Sam said that, too. Doesn't mean he won't build an 80 million dollar Super Sam Church when he's done in St. Louis. :D

if landry puts it together in college, that church is going to have to wait till he's done with the NFL.

btw, i'm digging the "new" landry look. he's got the new, cooler looking helmet...the shiny shoes are new for this season too...along with the half sleeves. if i played QB, i'd dress out like that too. ok, done with my fashion rant.

Baptist? It would make sense.

Baptist preachers and OU have a pretty good history.

Maybe if he got ordained now we'd rip off about 31 straight.

No homo at all man! I agree with everything but the helmet. I never like the Revo Same wore and I don't like Landry's helmet. QB's should wear a regular helmet or a Adams at most. That is just personal opinion and based on look alone. I am sure there is a reason behind the Revo for same and the one Landry sports. I do like the sleeves though Landry looks like a badass!

Never noticed the knee brace on TV before (I guess my eyes are getting bad :( ). When did he start wearing it, and why (precaution or injury)?

setem
9/24/2010, 11:30 AM
I am not sure why he wears it. Maybe he banged it up just a bit and they want to keep it from becoming a serious injury. Even Sam wore one at some point. I looked a pic of Sam and it is one his front leg when he throws. Same for Landry in the pic above. Maybe it is to keep them from pulling a Jason White when he steps forward to throw or something...? I don't know!

All the QBs wear a brace on their front side knee.

It's precautionary, as that is the leg exposed most to the rush.

I would not say ALL QB's wear em.:D I think a lot of stress gets put on that front side knee, eventually it needs a brace.

Kevin Wilson explained this adequately.

It has nothing to do with the throwing motion putting stress on the knee. It has everything to do the the trash on the ground diving at their feet. See Tom Brady! That is when they started doing it.

As long as we're posting random QB pics... BLAKE BELL, ladies and gentlemen!
http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2009/0930/rise_blake_bell1_300.jpg

Now answer me this - why the non-throwing hand position? Is it to block the sunlight from their eyes? Is it to block incoming linebackers from sending them to the turf? Is it just have your other arm doing something so that your throwing arm doesn't get disgruntled for doing all of the work while the other arm slacks off?

Here is the game it all started. Six days after the Tom Brady injury. The prior Saturday, against Cincy, Bradford did not wear a brace.

Yes David we have now cleared that up in 2 threads. I was under the assuption that rawlings was saying ALL qb's wear a brace on the front leg. I missed that part I guess. I am wrong.
