I was wondering what happened to Jaz.

Now I'd like to know what happened to Jonathan Miller. I know he hurt his knee last year - is he going to redshirt this season? He seemed to be the type of back that could make some yards in our blocking scheme the few times I saw him last year.

So, was he out all three games with this grades issue or just the AF game? I haven't read much about it other than him being eligible to play now after being suspended for the AF game. This would be good to know because if it was for all three games then we know why he was set out. But if it was for just the AF game then he hasn't been getting PT because of his play or lack there of.

Well, Im not sure of the particulars but you dont have to have bad grades to be on academic suspension from the coach. He coulda been skipping class and stuff like that

To add on what C11 said about academic suspension, you're right. I think I remember hearing AD and Chris Brown both suspended before for "academic" reasons that really had nothing to do with eligibility.

AD didnt get suspended for any games I dont think but he did get removed from starting and missed practice cus he skipped a cpl of classes if I remember correctly, Brown I dont remember

They usually try to put more than one player in a given class to hopefully inspire them to go. I know two kids who use to be "spotters" and had to report if they players missed classes.

One of them absolutely hated it but he did it, the other just marked them all there until they sent a new spotter to some of his classes and they found out he was filling out false reports. As one would expect, he was fired immediately, but I've always been curious if they get professors in the fold. I'm assuming they do and it's convenient that almost every class requires attendance these days.

coaches usually make sure, there is at least 2 players in the same class; so they can get each other to go to class. He has a friend who was responsible of making sure the players were attending, but he always reported that they were attending whether or not they really were. He was fired when they noticed, through another spotter, that he was filing false reports. :D

Now I'm not sure what this has to do with Reynolds. :P

They do try to get professors involved, and I think many help by checking attendance. I couldn't because I usually had players in a class with an enrollment of 400 - 450 and no way I was taking regular attendance in a class of that size. They would also sent out periodic academic progress reports to check on any grade issues with students before they became problems.
