Andrew Luck is the truth... Imagine if they still had Gerhart

Contender for Pac-10 champ, pretender for MNC. Good team, though.

Gerhart was made by the scheme. He is a good back, who looked great. Their run blocking is amazing. Similar to what Cal was doing a few years back. Plug em in.

Lets see how they handle Brother Mike and his Wildcats.

We caught a break with Luck (I avoided the pun) being unavailable for the Sun Bowl, I have no doubt.

Who have they played? (rhetorical) Sacramento State, Wake Forest, UCLA. LOL

i don't know if stanford is the real deal, but andrew luck sure is. he is going to have a fine career in the NFL. i picked him to win the heisman before the season started...so far so good. too bad they can't play these weak teams every saturday.

I agree with Yank, he is an elite Quarterback but Stanford overall is not that good.

Agreed. I do think someone from the pac 10 will not lose... until their bowl game

Stanford is a solid, fundamentally sound team and they have a good QB. So they are not a pretender in those terms if that's what you mean.

Gerhart was made by the scheme.

Gotta love those schemes that cause RBs to steamroll multiple linebackers at a time and knock defensive backs out of the way like bowling pins.

That's weird...He didn't really do that in the bowl game.

Okay, let's continue to follow him. Should be exciting!

I watched three Stanford games prior to the OU Sun Bowl (Cal, ND, and USC, I believe), and hadn't seen blocking that clean since the Marshawn Lynch era Cal teams. Dirty, dirrrrrty. Yes, he broke a lot of tackles but he got a great running start to do it!

That's what happens when your backup QB sucks and you have to run through all 11 defenders to make 5 yards.

And no, I'm not saying OU only won the game b/c Stanford's QB got hurt - especially since OU probably had the most injury ****ty luck of anybody last year - I'm just looking at it from Gerhart's rushing in the Sun Bowl vs the rest of the year. Nobody else could afford to focus on him that much.

No one else they played had as good a defense as OU either.

I've watch the Stanford games against UCLA and Wake. I'd say their mid-teens ranking is deserved given the available data. I don't see any teams ranked around them that should scare them. Have to get into the top 10 before they would be heavy underdogs. They have replaced Gerhardt with a committee of RBs, but they have been effective and give them change of pace. Luck looks to have improved from last season. What remains to be seen is if their horrible pass defense has improved enough since last season to challenge for the Pac10. I just hope they crush 'SC again.

i'd say stanford is THE contender for the pac-10 title, but there's this team from oregon that wears ugly uniforms that's pretty darn good...

I suspect Stanford will be heavy underdogs going into Eugene.

For some reason, I like many of the duck uniforms and the way they change them all the time. Not something I'd want to see at OU, but it seems to suit them.
