I think that is pretty much the case all throughout the south, I see an awful lot of Big 10/11 representation down here as well. Yesterday while running around I saw huge contingent of Michigan fans at a Pluckers (wing bar) watching their game before the OU game. I have three Big 10/11/12 co-workers (Michigan, Illinois, Nebraska) and the boss and another co-worker are from the MAC (Ball State, Miami-OH). We have 10 employees and only one Whorn in the bunch.
