Is it just me? Or was that dumb?
(Rhetorical question. I know it isn't just me. :D )

But their offense just drove the field on us and we had never really stopped them all day ... so we give them a short field.

We escaped. But I hope we learned a lesson there.

35 yard line..... too long for a field goal, and I don't see what punting would accomplish. I like the play call, and Landry should have hit Broyles, but that is ok.

It was but a win is a win. We all know how Bob is sometimes he's out of his mind lol. Fake punts, going for it on 4th and long, etc.

Loved the call. Bad throw, he rushed it.

Maybe we only give them an extra 15 yards, if we kick a touchback. Not a big risk, going for it.

Unless you have a kicker who can hit consistently from 52 yards, remembering that a punt has a very good shot at only netting you 15 (which isn't much different than failing the 4th down is), it's not a bad call at all.

If you succeed, you have the ball with probably 20-27 yards to go for a TD. If you fail, they have the ball with probably 65-70 yards to go for a TD. That's worth it, IMO, even if you think you'll only convert 40% of the time.

It only looks like a bad call when it fails. When Florida goes for it on 4th and 7 from the middle of the field, it looks like a genius call.

Absolutely no problem with the call. Many problems with some of Landry's passes today though.

how about a pooch punt. I thought it was a dumb call.

No problem with the call, you see that in college games fairly often at that position on the field. There's a lot more to gain than there is to lose by trying for it...

No problem with the call. Trying to punt them inside the 10 would have been a good call too.

I am not sure how Way is on pooch punts. He might have drilled it half way up the stands.

Risk vs. Reward.

I think it was a good call.

I think a good call. In that gray zone of a very long field goal vs. a weak/pooch punt. Go for the gold... Broyles was open, Landry just got excited and rushed his throw without planting and squaring his shoulders.

Missed it by "that much"....

going for it didn't bother me, what bothered me was passing on 3rd and 4th when you have been running the ball well and you are in clock management mode.

I felt we were in four down territory anyway so I would have run it twice. Even if we don't get the first we take a lot of time off the clock and we at least gain some yards.
