If, however, a team ever did want to really mess with an opponent, they'd get the fans to laugh anytime the other team screwed something up. Y'know, rather than yell, scream, etc.

Football players are used to being yelled at, as that's how most coaches coach. But laughter is something I'd wager most couldn't handle.
