For the record, as a 23 year USAF veteran, and a guy who was in the USAF a lot longer than anyone playing for the AFA this Saturday, I DO NOT have a problem with "....and the home of the Sooners!" Moreover, I do not consider it disrespectful or a problem to sing the National Anthem that way.
In fact, if you think about it, "and the home of the Sooners" is an indisputably
factual statement. To wit, the song is the US National Anthem. Oklahoma is one of the United States. Ergo, the US is home of the Sooners.
IMHO, everyone just needs to just chill the f*** out on this. Sheesh.

P.S. Although I've never been a Dallas Cowboys or Atlanta Braves fan, I had no probelem with both orgs marketing themselves at various times as "America's Team."
