The two best RBs in football are AD and Chris Johnson

AD had 19 carries the entire game, only 9 the final 3 qts

Chris Johnson has 22 carries thru 3 qts

I was thinking the same thing. I am also thinking that I wish I had Foster from Houston as my RB on FBB. 190 yards rushing already!

Keep on doing what you're doing, Brad Childress.

The problem is...

in '07 the added Peterson +2
in '08 they added Allen +2
in '09 they added Favre and Harvin +2

in '10 they didn't add anybody and Rice is out

I think we are going to see a -2 this year.

That means he can only lose 1 more this season or he is PHAIL!

I know, but I tend to give the guy a little leeway after sitting through the Mike Tice era debacles.

Keep on doing what you're doing, Brad Childress.

So, sell out your QB's 67-year-old arm, take your young superstar RB out of the gameplan, and lose a winnable game?

Probably much ado about nothing being the 1st game of the year & all, but I think your disdain for the Peterson draft pick may be skewing your vision just a bit.

If you think Childress is a good gameday coach you are fooling yourself 04', giving the ball to AD more last week is common sense

Childress is an idiot, no doubt. All Day should get traded to Green Bay if the moron's not going to use him properly. We are currently in the market for a running back :O

Agreed, Childress dosn't us AD well at all. Fisher does everything he can to get CJ the ball in space and he is creative with misdirection in the run calls. Watching the Viking run offense is like watching OU's run offense. No imagination.

We in New Orleans love Chilly. Nice 12 men on the field in the Championship game. And, I agree, the more Farve sucks the more you should let him throw. Forget about that Mack truck of a RB you have.

Childress is not a good coach. Brett Favre even said he didn't trust him with the offense. Now, we see why...

8-8.

Imagine how terrible Tennessee would've been had Johnson's numbers been down there with Peterson's from last year.

Fisher has accomplished a hell of a lot more than Childress has, and Fisher nearly made the playoffs after a 2-6 start

Record through their first four FULL seasons as a head coach in the NFL:

Jeff Fisher: 31-33
Brad Childress: 36-28

It's quite obvious Childress is building a juggernaut. If Peterson has a down year (1200 yards) but the Vikings still win the Super Bowl you all will be bitching about production while rawlingsHOH and I will be dancing in the streets for months.

I'll send you a postcard from Jerry World!

He better build it quick. Favre will be in a nursing home soon.

So youre a Vikes fan? Im a pseudo Vikes fan cus of AD. You have to admit if you watch their games (ive probably watched 20 of their games the last two years) that Childress is not a good in game coach

I've been a Vikings fan since 1987, and if you'd sat through the end of of Jerry Burns, the end of Denny Green and all of Mike Tice you'd think Brad Childress was the second coming of Vince Lombardi.

Oh, and as for Jeff Fisher, he almost made the playoffs last year after an 0-6 start.

Tice was a disaster, Id agree that since the missed FG that woulda sent you to the SB, the Childress has really made things better. I just think his in game strategies leave alot to be desired

Coaches can outsmart themselves from time to time. I totally understand that, but I abandon any and all things regarding OU when it comes to the pro level. It doesn't even dawn on me anymore than Harvin played at Florida. Couldn't care less about it. Can you help the Purple People Eaters? If you can, I'm all for you.

I remember a few years ago the Vikings won in San Francisco. Peterson had three yards, THREE YARDS, on 14 carries. It could not have mattered any less to me. We won the game, and that's what sticks. Adrian could fumble six times in a game and I wouldn't get on him.......as long as we win. He could have the most catastrophic drop of a screen pass in the history of mankind and I wouldn't get on him.......as long as we win.

:)

And that's why I won't say anything bad about Childress when we've gone from 6 to 8 to 10 to 12. I've seen the other side. I saw what happened after Stringer died on the practice field. It ain't pretty!

The problem I had with last week is that Peterson is a notoriously strong finisher. Often times he'd be semi-bottled up thru a half or so and explode for big yardage late, against a fatigued defense. You'd figure in week one, especially, a defense may be vulnerable late in the game, to a high effort runner.

Oh I understand, im a Chiefs fan and ive got Bowe-LSU, Charles and Johnson-UT, and Cassel-USC. You have to let go of college allegiances, the problem with AD is that he makes that team better and he often isnt utilized correctly, OU Sooner or not

I'm not sure he has ever regained his pure top end speed since the MCL tear in Green Bay, a couple weeks prior to that. Watching him hobble around with that big leg brace, late in 07, was painful.

It's frustrating that Peterson didn't get more carries but Childress was not the reason. Simply put Favre didn't get the job done on passing downs and that limited the opportunities for Peterson.

Hard to argue with that. He had a pair of 200+ yard days early in that season (including the 296 yard tour-de-force against the Chargers) but has only topped 180 once since the injury.

Favre can't catch it for Berrian.

I am sure AD prefers to win over getting pro bowl invites and individual trophies and all... but it won't be his arse on the hot seat if they don't win this season

:D I hope they keep buffoon childress in minny a loooong time, but I know he's gonna get sacked before long if this crap keeps up.

I want to see the Vikings win...simply because I want to see AD win. However, if they are gonna lose anyway, I would rather see him get a few more carries.

I was typing on my phone so I kept it short. Favre and the receivers didn't get the job done on passing downs.
