Screw that, Cam told us to kiss a$$. So I'm all about him losing! Besides, those little b*tches still scream loudly that they should have been in that NCG over us. So screw em!

I do suggest you watch this game though, as I like I said 2 months ago on here.... I think Cam Newton will be the Heisman winner that comes from no where. If he doesn't win, he at least makes the trip!

I'm thinking my Vikings could use some sort of 'secondary'. They could use this to stop long and easy passes...

JLEW1818
9/9/2010, 10:55 PM
Favre overrated... like now in his career? or all time?

he leads in like every stat.

don't get me wrong stats can be misleading... Pete Rose is not the best hitter to ever live.... acutally i could probably pick at least 7 hitters before him.

rawlingsHOH
9/9/2010, 11:22 PM
I could pick 100 hitters in front of Rose, but Favre is easily one of the 5 best QBs of all-time.

He's 41-years old. Over-the-hill, not overrated.

rawlingsHOH

Favre is one of those rare pro athletes that can be over and underrated IMO.

He is overrated in that he makes far too many stupid mistakes to be a truly Great QB, he is underrated in that he is basically indestructible and has put up legendary numbers

He also leads in interceptions.

And as a Packer fan, I watched him win one superbowl on a team that was good enough to win a few more, were it not for his playoff mishaps.

No way. They had extremely average talent on those offenses. He turned more clowns into 1,000-yard receivers than any QB ever. Bill Schroeder? lol These guys go to other teams and this simply disappear into spare-dom.

He played with one great receiver, Sharpe, and he was long gone before Favre hit his prime.

They could have won it in '97, I suppose, but Elway's Broncos were pretty salty too.

Favre only played one year with that group. And was runner up for MVP, behind only Brady, who had the greatest season of all time.

Greg Jennings came on the scene once Favre was already a grandpa. 1992-2007 in Packer land.

Not a big fan of Childress.

I was being raped by essays so I could not partake in my own thread last night.

I will say I thought that was a rather dismal game, with the exception of Favre's two big passes to Shiancoe, and the opening Saints drive. Oh well, there's a whole season ahead of us.

Mississippi State had a chance to win it at the end, but no dice..

jkjsooner
9/10/2010, 09:26 AM
Peterson, 10 carries thru 1 quarter, 9 the rest of the game. Disappointing.

This is all on Favre and the receivers not Childress. How many times did Peterson get them to third and 2 or 3 and have Favre throw an incompletion and force them to punt? Had they converted on a few third downs Peterson would have had more carries.

The Vikings offense took Peterson out of the game either by not converting on third and short (but long enough to be a passing down considering the stacked lines) and by throwing incompletions on first and second down.

Sooner04
9/10/2010, 09:46 AM
It's all about the quarterback, gents. Peterson had a solid game, but Favre and the receivers were out of sync. So, overall, the offense pretty much stunk.

I sure wish New Orleans had had THAT Garrett Hartley kicking for them in the NFC Championship Game last year.
