The NCAA investigation was prompted by the 2008 BCS National Championship, during which the announcers commented on Balogun being a former semi-pro football player before attending Lackawanna (Pa.) Junior College and ultimately OU.

Documentation in Balogun’s injunction filling claims that an official from Florida State’s compliance office contacted the Big 12 Conference and OU and suggested they investigate Balogun’s eligibility.

Florida State officials were familiar with the rule since they had a player, wide receiver Corey Surrency, whose career was cut short after it was found earlier in 2008 he had played a season of semi-pro football past the age of 21.

"The night we get back from the national championship, I get a call from (OU’s) compliance office saying they’re investigating me again because Florida State called and asked how did this guy have eligibility because an announcer during the game said something about me playing semi-pro ball,” Balogun recalled. "I didn’t understand what (Florida State) was trying to accomplish.”

This isn't the Mob. FSU is obliged to report anything they see as a violation. Of course, so is Stoops.

They're not obliged to do anything if the way they got their information was sitting on their *** watching a bowl game.

Again, if they think they have uncovered something improper, they are obliged to report it.

And it was proven that Balogun did nothing improper, yet because of them opening their mouths they ruined his college career

And again, they didn't uncover anything. So, was every other college football program being inappropriate since they didn't do what FSU did? Because I'm pretty sure they all watched the same broadcast.

The NCAA did, not FSU. The NCAA is the one that performed the investigation and they're the ones that levied the decision.

So, was every other college football program being inappropriate since they didn't do what FSU did?

In the eyes of the NCAA, yes.

The NCAA is a self-governing body. Such bodies can only function if the members agree to self-regulate. That's just the way it is.

Let's beat the tar out of FSU for the right reason: They're an opponent who had the audacity to think they could beat the Sooners on Owen Field.

Well, the NCAA never would have done any career-ruining if the Noles hadn't come calling like the tattletale kid on the playground.

I wouldn't have been involved in that wreck if I had only stayed and finished my coffee. I'm complaining to Folgers.

BTW, complaining about "snitches" is very much schoolyard stuff.

I guess I'm like Mike. I just don't get why they were the ones that were so interested. The fact that we were on their schedule in the very near future doesn't make them look any better.

Not really. I just hate taking stances and then later having to eat my own words when our own coach does something similar. There may be a time in the future when Stoops uncovers something incriminating about (say) Kansas and turns them in. What are we going to say then?

We don't need the "snitch" angle to win. We need to play well.

Losing to N Dakota St is incriminating enough for KU

There are so many reasons to win on Saturday. Perhaps the best reason is so that the Sooners will be 2-0 for the 2010 season.

That being said, Dean is correct. Leroy is still a ****tard.
