who ever listens to the games on the radio ??

we see nearly all games live or on tv. can't get the games on the radio anyway.

when i first moved here from CA; (there for 8 yrs) few games were on tv. @ that time, nearest station was durant (that we knew of). couldn't pick it up
very well, especially in the house. listened to lotsa games on the car radio.

there was a tiny station north of dallas that carried games for a while. think
it was near where frisco is now. wasn't much (if any) better than durant. i remember one of the advertisers (main one) was Randy Shockey.

since 89, we've seen nearly all the games in norman, 8 to 10 in dallas & several in waco. also one in ft.worth.

boring,huh ????

Tons of people in "remote" locations listen online. People who can't afford pay per view listen. People who don't have pay per view available listen. People who can't stream on 360 listen. People who hate the tv announcers listen while they watch on tv. people who don't have fox sports listen.

You get the idea.

Hopefully someone will stream the game saturday, but if not I will probably be one of the people listening on the radio since I have cable included in my rent and don't have PPV available here. The OU club here apparently isn't having a party for PPV games and I most likely won't want to blow the huge amounts of cash I'd spend at a casino or bar on booze and crap.

Radio isn't dead yet.

People listen to the radio broadcast at the games all the time. There's tons of old timers (my pops included) that have the headphones with the radio in them, listening to injury reports and such.

Cru is right, radio isn't dead yet.

We watch them, and listen to it on Sirius when we get tired of listening to some of the idiots on tv.

I can only think of twice we've had "idiots" calling our games on TV. Tulsa 2007 (AKA "The Notre Dame Show with Lou Holtz and Bob Davie" and absolutely horrid announcers in Spielman and Donnahue (sp?)) and the 2009 Orange Bowl (AKA "Florida's defense is playing amazing, let's talk about Tebow ad nauseum"). Even the PBP's that haven't been great (Franklin, Musberger, Land, Patrick) have been better than ours over the radio in recent years. That said, I understand there are people who don't have the luxury of games on TV right in front of them, and that's who I think of when I hear ours so bad at times. Bob is dead-on during the pregame and post-game analysis, and maybe the last of a dying breed in terms of the unbiased reporter. However, as he pointed out himself, the older he's gotten, the farther away that game appears and the faster it gets away from him.

All complaints aside, I'd listen to a random hairlip with a stuttering problem who doesn't know anything that's going on when Bob's gone before I'd ever prefer something so hideous as the "pistols firing" guy. On our way home from an OU/TX game a few years ago, my OSU fan friends were pizzed that I turned that crap off. It's like listening to a horrible song or nails on a chalkboard.

yeah, he'd always be a play behind....take commercial breaks to alow him to catch up, and then start all over.. it would be hard to listen to.

That would be entertaining.

After one full game with Mike Leach there wouldn't be anyone in here who hadn't thrown their radios into the trash.

Great coach. Horrible speaker.
