I thought some of you guys would enjoy this. I'm actually surprised ol' Shoulda Coulda Mack was being a good sport about the second National Title ring and Hook 'em sign.

I was sort of surprised to see Saban do something like that. I am never surprised to see Mack whoring himself to ESPN. I could not no way, not no how see Bob doing a commercial like that. And I feel good about that.

Has Bob EVER been in a commercial?

Exposure, I bet it's part of they're decision to do it.

Do you really want that kind of exposure? They both came off looking like a couple of idiots - although Mack more than Saban.

So...They're exposing themselves then?

But I am sure they THOUGHT they looked cool.

Am I the only one who liked this commercial? I genuinely LOL'd when they pulled out Hungry Hungry Hippos.

If I were to see Stoops doing anything a little bit off the cuff for the national media, I would picture it as something to do with either his wife, his kids, or perhaps the other OU coaches.

With his wife: Stoops borrowing the pink caddy. No words needed, just Stoops roll up in a pink car.
With his kids: Going through the lunch line with his daughter at school. Cute awww moment.
With the other OU coaches: Perhaps have Capel morph into his Duke self, try to lob a pass down court, only for Stoops in his Iowa gear going all d-back and intercepting the pass. That would actually be kind of cool.

Can you see The King doing something like that with Pat Jones?

I thought it was pretty funny too, but I guess I'm biased. You can rest assured if it were Bob Stoops and Mack doing this, it would be way more popular here. It is kinda cheesy, but recruits watch Gameday, and I can't think CNS showing a lighter side on National TV is bad thing.

Tidefan36854,

Our good Sooner friends and crimson brothers in arms think that ESPN has come under the hypnotic sway of the SEC, despite the fact that there is no "sec, sec!!" chant or official endorsement of more than 7 NC's for Bama in the commercial. So cut them some slack if they fail to see any humor in this, OK?!...;-)

PS I guess its pretty dang easy to be a good sport when you make over 5 million a year

I actually saw a King/Pat Jones commercial TODAY for some foundation repair company in OKC. It was full of cheese.

Not with me. I just thought it was stupid. Wouldn't care if it was Stoops & Mack. It would still be stupid and I would be severely disappointed in Stoops! But that's just me. I don't like most of the so-called comedies put out by the movie industry either. They all seem stupid to me and I don't think stupid is funny. :pop:

I'll be honest, I laughed when Mack pulled out the Hungry Hungry Hippos and yelled "it's on!"

Yeah, I seem to remember The King and Pat Jones doing a commercial for Goldie's Hamburgers back in the day that was pretty cringe-worthy.

I like this one. Maybe show him having a hard day at practice: yelling at people, pissed off, throwing visors, etc. Then he gets in the big pink Caddy.
