The rest of the top 10 has TCU at No. 6, followed by Oklahoma, which received a first-place vote, Nebraska, Iowa and Virginia Tech

Thats kinda cool

AP Preseason Poll = meh.

Having Potato State #3 is a play to sell newspapers. (or get comments on message boards)

I have noticed that Alabama and Saban have stolen ESPN's lust for whorn, by turning their network into the Bristol Tide.

The joy is that when we take care of biz on the field, everybody else will be looking up at the Sooners.

I always say, let the teams play about 5 games and then do the rankings. Doesn't mean much to me. A bit off subject, but Bama dominated your article about the rankings. ESPN was bragging about the SEC speed, said the Big 12 proved itself to be an fake conference in BCS, and finished by saying the Big 10 has sluggish runners. Does he realize that the great Mark Ingram grew up in Flint, Michigan?

Don't forget this is the network that paid eleventybillion dollars for the rights to televise SEC ping-pong matches.

...And to think the wolverines probably could have had Ryan Mallett AND Mark Ingram on the field today if they had gone with another coach other than the one they about to fire...

Of all places, a voter from BATON ROUGE has OU #1. I hope Lesslie finds out and has a take on it.

I would tend to agree with you, but it's not like coaches care about selling newspapers or creating message board fodder... in fact, I think most coaches hate both newspapers and message boards :D

In any event, tons of respect to Virginia Tech scheduling non-conference opponents that aren't cupcakes. We are all rooting for you to kick smurf turf's arse!

Yes, but this thread is about the AP poll, not the Coaches' joke...I mean poll.

The guy from Utah doesn't deserve to have a vote. If you aren't going to take the poll seriously, or if you are just that stupid about football, you are destroying the poll's credibility. And, no, I'm not just talking about where he has OU ranked.
